I use to think The Rock was hott, but now ....he just looks like a thumb to me.

So I woke up and my dog is laying on the back patio covered in dirt with a rabbit in his mouth.
The rabbit's not bloody, just dirty. My neighbor's kids raise blue ribbon rabbits. I instantly knew it was one of theirs.
So I took the rabbit away from my dog, rushed inside, and washed all the dirt off it before my neighbors woke up.
It was stiff but I heard some animals play dead when they are afraid.
I took it and placed it back in one of the cages in their back yard then I ZOOMED back in my house.
Not 30 minutes later I hear my neighbors screaming so I go out and ask them what's wrong?
They tell me their rabbit died three days ago and they buried it but now it's back in the cage.

The rabbit

I cannot understand a) ever thinking that another creature in my dog's jaws was gonna be alive, ever. Blood or no, it was gonna be dead b) you WASHED IT? YOU WASHED IT and it did not move? Did you think it was gently enjoying it's bath...Because also I would be very shocked if something "gently lying between my pet's teeth was not gonna FREAK out as I was bathing it.

I love you a bunch, but I'm afraid I lost a bit of respect for your critical reasoning skills, etc.

You should ask for the rabbit BACK. At this point, you have NOTHING to lose. And it's clear your pet wants it for a chew toy.

OMG I feel so sorry for you. About the explaining. Although if it were me I might point out a deeper grave might work better or something.....
