Cost. If you pay $180+ for it. Can be made in China as long as it was $180!

That's the impression I get anyway. Some are truly unique or innovative but they all serve the same purpose, some better than others but you don't need an expensive mod to get "high end" performance.

I have one unique high end mod and love it but vape on my $40 paragon clone most often.

High end vape gear is like high limit gaming tables, or high end automobiles. They are trend setters true, but that's because they are generally outstanding gear, and every clone maker wants a piece of the action and copies it, often coming close, but rarely matching the quality or performance.

There is also a Extremely high end vape gear. We are talking about silver gold and diamonds, seriously. $800 to several thousand. Paying more for glitter and boasting rights, kind of like getting a Rolex.

Generally speaking though, high end is synonymous with Authentic gear. I consider $100 for a single piece of gear, rba or mod, to be at the beginning of high end. But then there are some clones that will sell for that amount too.

Also one seems to buy more high end gear when they, well, lets just say, it's not a good idea to shop for vape gear if one has a buzz on, and leave it at that. Though one does tend to wake to notification's of shipments that way. Heck, expecting something from Greece later on today, or was that Pluto. It's all Geek to me:D

Vape long and Prosper.!!!!

When I purchased my Nemesis, PAPS GP, Chi You, Super T ELA, etc., there were no clones of the said. Same can be said for my RTAs and RDAs.

Doesn't matter what you use, as long as you quit smoking.

Vaping is relative to everything else in life. Some people drive expensive cars and some don't. At the end of the day, we all arrive at our individually chosen
destinations.

Happy Vaping, All.

 yeah one mans high end is another mans mvp. :D or something like that. Yeah, guess great knock you down kick ya in the balls kind of vape is a luxury, but I pay for my investments with the money not paid on tobacco. Figure would of spent that money anywho, so might as well put it into the collection. Then to further save started mixing DIY juice. Yeah, that save continuous money to reinvest in a great hobby.

True, doesn't matter what ya vape, as long as one's not smoking, but damn, I got some serious awesome vape.

My husband and I were talking about this the other day -- I told him the price of cigarettes are like a thousand little pinches, they don't hurt one at a time, but you'll still get bruised ... while vaping is like one big sucker punch that knocks you on your --- you know.

For me, luxury vaping (love the terminology, btw) is anything you'd consider a splurge. Luxury, by nature, is different for each person. For a millionaire, $200 on a mod is nothing -- for someone else, $200.00 might be considered a HG piece, something they have to save for and work towards for a long while. One doesn't minimize the other in any way at all. Luxury, and the having of it, is personal.

My definition: A unicorn mod, a set-up that makes you feel good to own (regardless of price), standing next to a bunch of smokers while vaping your favorite juice that tastes a whole lot more delicious, buying the item you've lusted over online, and so on...

As Miss AshMPWrites wrote above, It doesn't have to be expensive to be luxury to you. I don't own a single "genuine" mechanical. I refuse to pay hundreds of dollars for an effin' metal tube.

Though I have genuine atomizers, batteries, Evolv Kicks. etc. I just can't justify paying $250 dollars for a tube because it says Atmomixani on it. I also own two VaporShark DNAs so they're "genuine" expensive mods, another DNA20 tube mod which was over $200.. But they're more than just a metal tube. I just can't justify the price of most genuine mechanicals out there.

Guys a legit mod like nemesis is high end right? Will you consider the 1:1 clone of that nemy to be high end as well?

For me? No. But as I mentioned above, it's subjective.

When I think of luxury in a particular mod, I think of the authentic option first. But that's not to say everyone thinks that way, or would think that way. The difference, IMO, is like the difference between carrying a Gucci bag or a Fucci bag. If your price point is a Fucci, that's your luxury, but if you could afford a Gucci, because you like the way it looks or feels or the small details of it, you'd probably go with a Gucci. Even if they were very similar. There is always going to be the "name association" which is what branding is all about -- and it's the association with a name that evokes a buttery feeling inside you (you, in general terms), makes you able to justify the price and feel the sense of pride in ownership (be it bag-proud or mod-proud, doesn't matter).

Well... I just pre-ordered the Tobeco Knight mod... for me, that's relatively high end... in all honesty, it was less than $50, so many probably wouldn't consider it so...

*edit to add*
Gonna put a copper tobh on it... should be sexy!

Sad part is, I'm planning on spending $43 plus tax/shipping just for a drip tip to put on it!
