This is for kayfun

I've seen mixed reports from people regarding coil height and how it affects throat hit. Can you all chime in on your experience with throat hit and coil height on kayfun please? I'm looking for less throat hit so should it be closer to the deck or higher up by the screws? Thanks!
yes higher of deck can increase TH but lower also creates some issues as well. you can mess with the height and see if it makes enough difference. are you using micro coils? if so this is just the nature of the beast unless you decrease nic levels. another thing you can try if your doing micro coils is to make a gap in the middle of the coil. the middle part of the coil is usually the hottest so by creating a gap it can reduce the intensity

I posted a similar question the other day. This is the answer I was looking for, thank you.

Great advice, thank you.

Oddly though I used 28 gauge 10 wraps in a 1/16 drill bit at about 1.4 ohm and cotton wick on a pro tank coil head. And I got absolutely next to no throat hit. It bothered me so much that I scrapped that coil. Wondering what I did wrong there?

cant really comment on protank coils because I don't vape them or really haven't tried this build in one. from time to time I rebuild my wifes protanks but only use 30g wire and shoot for higher resistances for her. my guess would be that 28g might be to thick for a protank and too many wraps. because of the thicker gauge and large amount of wire, its just to much to heat up properly for the mod you might be using. I would try a thinner wire.
