I've been vaping a week and a half. It's going brilliantly, but I'm having real trouble keeping on top of the dehydration. I'm vaping prefilled PG cartos at the moment and am about to put in an order for some juice to refill. Should I be going for 100% VG or what sort of mix should I go for? I'm drinking so much water I feel like my eyeballs should be floating... but they're not.

Also, it's winter here. I hate to think what this might be like in summer O.O

Thanks :)

PG/VG are both humectants, which means they absorb water...the vapor we exhale is 65%water 34%PG/VG 1%flavorings and nic(or so I have read in the health section)...that water has to come from somewhere...the"mist" created by atomizing PG/VG traps water in our breath, which comes from our bodies and carries it out as that big ol' cloud of vapor...it may or may not dehydrate us in a clinical sense but it absorbs water from us and our soft tissues and that needs to be replaced...holding the vape in, will cause the water to be reabsorbed by our bodies which, is why when you hold the vape in, the visible water vaper has been reabsorbed...drinking water is good for you and doing so while you vape keeps the palate cleansed and refreshed adding to the overall enjoyment of the vaping experience...plus, if you are newbie vaporer, it will help with the detox from the funkarettes.
Some say PG dries them out more than VG, and others say the opposite. I personally use a 70/30 ratio when I mix my juices.
No one says you have to drink just water BTW. I drink tea, or Coke, or coffee etc....and I also suck on mints. Any of these will help with dehydration.

I'm drinking a lot more water, too. But the surprising thing is that I have sjogren's syndrome, which affects the eyes and mouth, and usually have to drink or mist my mouth during the night, and that's not happening. Weird. But I am drinking a lot more water, which is really good for me and my body and my meds. I AM looking for some other drinks, though. And it IS lemonade season. I am thinking about trying some soda water with lemon and sugar for a carbonated lemonade, and maybe a recipe that I saw earlier that has soda water + concentrated fruit juices. Because of one of my conditions, I have to kind of be careful about too much acidity in my drinks, but most is okay, especially since I flush with water so much. Also using a lot of lip balm since I started vaping. I recommend the Nivea Milk and Honey kind, because it works really well, plus it goes with just about any flavor I can think of.

I am smoking mostly 70/30 pg/vg today, which seems to be a little better w/ the dehydration. I don't like the "weight?" of the vapor, though, and will go back to 50/50. Anyway, that's my .02. :)
