If I had the resources, I pay Bill, Carl Phillips--even Siegel--or somebody like that to lobby the politicians long before these measures come up for a hearing. By the time of the hearings, their minds are made up. We're just not getting the job done. The Overland Park, KS, debacle is a good example. It seemed to emerge out of the blue and it got passed without so much as a "Hey, wait a minute and let's review a few facts." I would contribute my bucks to get something like this going. CASAA, how about it?

There is another thread on a county in NY planning to vote on an e-cig usage ban in public places. They're holding a public hearing beforehand. I think that is the way to go, if you're going to vote on legislation that will affect the liberties of the public, they should have a say before legislators get to vote. Things like this should NOT be behind closed doors.
