Deluxe CE2's Question

I recently received the regular sized 2.4-2.6 deluxe ce2's and they don't really work on my Ego. It's burning the juice. I read in another thread that other people experience the same thing and need higher ohms. I'm getting my first mod on Tuesday and I was wondering what voltage would be suitable for these? I use LR stuff with my Ego all the time so I don't understand why these particular cartos are burning my juice.

im using the same on my eGo 650 battery and found it was pretty good. filled twice but this third time feels like sth's different.

i tried different variations of the plug system + drip tips so still trying to figure out whats best

go to that thread and follow the basic steps, when filling, dont overfill, since your filling it you can lift the main inner plug on the sides where the slits and wick are to give the wicks more room, apply 2 drops of juice on the coil to prep it, make sure you have 4 slots on your ego if you dont you can add 2 more air slots as proper airflow is different for every type of carto/clearo/tank, if the basic steps dont get you going then::

Remove the inner plug that sits on the cup, then take your thinner center o-ring and flip it and use that as the main plug and that sits right over the cup but gives it much more room for the wicks to do their job, also before this step I would advice you to pull up the wick a tad as to fluff them or just lift them so they are not squeezed all the way down into the slits.

Oh I've definitely done all the tips and tricks to get it wicked correctly...it's definitely getting wicked fine. The juice is burning for sure.

2 things, check the coil, make sure there isnt a loop that is by itself not touching the wick, if so thats one possibility, never seen it happen on a ce2 but on a vortex but could be something to look for, then do you have a different device to test, if not what kind of juice is it, is it probe to burning like some juices are.

One thing to check is that the coil isn't in contact with or too close to the o-ring. If you fluff the wicks, you have to be sure to push the coil back down a bit or you will get a naaaasty (and unhealthy) taste from the ring.

The coil is soldered to the wires but sometimes not to the tip of the wires. If that happens, the tip of the wire often comes in contact with a coil closer to the center. This drops the resistance and causes the coil to char up really fast. You can tell if this is happening by using an ohm meter, or by dry burning. If the outer coils don't turn orange, gently lift the coil by carefully pushing up on the wires. If you pull the coil itself it might break loose from the wires. Use a something like a needle to very gently bend the tips of the wires away from the center. I had this occasionally happen with CE4s, but 2/5 of my deluxes had this issue... It's annoying, but easy to fix!

It just sounds to me that you have too low ohms for your e-Liquid.

When your VV Mod I would try starting at 3.3 volts and work your way up. You will probably end up at 3.5volts but it's hard to say.

BTW - What type of mod did you get?

I'm getting 2 box mods from Steve at foxy box mods. A VV and another 3.7 as well. I've tried three different fluxomizers. The coils def are burning orange. I had Boba's Bounty in the first one which I thought maybe it was a VG problem...but then the next two I used Bounty Hunter and BWB Cherry Tobacco and I'm getting the same results. I take two hits off of it that taste fine...then the third one and every one after tastes bad. I sit it down...let it cool down. Then I can get 2 good hits again. Thats why I was pretty certain it's burning the juice. I've dripped juice right on the coils and everything I've modded it to make dang sure it's getting the juice up there. I just don't understand why my other LR stuff doesn't ever do this. I'm pretty sure my LR 306 is lower ohms than these.
