A lot of great info from everyone. You're looking at some good batteries there, so I just wanted to say to not be persuaded by a 30A+ battery. The highest are 30A, and unless it's a reputable brand like LG, Samsung, Sony, and some others I can't remember off the top of my head...well, if it's not one of those, chances are it could be a re-wrapped battery with fake specs. An example of a brand that overrates their specs is Efest. While many people use them, a lot say they perform better when treated like a 20A rather than 30-35A, etc.

If you're sure the pop came from the battery that isn't good. It may have vented / been ruined.

To give any opinions or recommendations we need basic information.

What charger?
name brand, smart or Intella charger?
Variable charge rate? if so what was it set on?

What battery?
Name brand, mah, amp, markings on wrap?
What is the battery that went pop voltage measure, using multi meter

Frankly speaking, i'm not sure where the pop comes from.

I'm using a brandless charger i got from a seller at a random box shop. (A shop concept which there are multiple lockers for rent, and you can display products for sale without having an actual shop front). No settings. Just pop the battery in and charge.

Using LG HE2. Markings on wrap as followed:
LGDBHG21865
0209G282A5

Do not have a voltmeter and stuffs to measure T.T

LG HE2/ LGDBHE2 is a different battery than the LGDBHG2/ LG HG2.
LG HE2 is a 2500mah 20a cdr red ish wrap -- LG HG2 is 3000mah 20a cdr with brown wrap.

A quality charger is a must, cheap / unknown chargers can over charge or charge at a too high amp or voltage rate which will damage batteries.
Also you must use a charger that is capable/suitable/designed for charging the chemistry batteries we use.

I suggest getting a decent charger ~ Xtar, Efest LUC or Nitecore intellicharger.

I've never had a charger make a pop sound or trip a circuit breaker, quit working, smoke, melt, catch fire, yes.

Will get nitecore prolly when im back as i'm flying off tomorrow night.

Well. Batt is working fine. Charging it off in my mod right now and its charging pretty fast.

I used a single battery Nitecore charger when I first started out, worked pretty good. The Xtar brand mentioned above is really good, I'm using the Xtar VP4 for my batteries and I'm really happy with it. Any of the ones mentioned should work well for you, and I know the Nitecore should have a scartch off sticker with an authentication code so you can check to see if you got a legitimate product or counterfeit. Xtar also have this.

Glad you got a working battery, stay safe and enjoy your vape journey.

Depending upon the mod, "check battery" and "weak battery" doesn't necessarily mean that the battery needs to be charged. It can also mean that the battery is too weak for the build. If you know it shouldn't be, then there could be a problem with the build (it's much lower Ohms than it should be or something is loose causing major changes in the Ohm reading) or the spec of the battery aren't what they should be (bad cell, mislabeled battery).

Those error codes usually mean the battery needs to be charged, but not always.
