So this morning at work I was on break and vaping when suddenly my ecig just started hitting weird. The airflow suddenly got really tight, and instead of a dry hit burnt taste, it had this wet burnt taste. There was plenty of liquid, no holes were blocked, and my atty head was brand new from the day before. I stopped at a smoke shop on my way home and got a knock off t3 to hold me over while I look my t2 over. Well I was puffing on my t3 just now, fresh charge, and it was tasting great then blam, almost the same thing. Except this time it had a weird metallic taste. I'm guessing it might be my battery, idk, but I dont have any backups or anything since I'm really tight on cash. Any ideas of what this could be would be a lot of help, I'm stuck in a pretty bad spot at the moment. Also, my setup is just an eGo-T with either a knock off t2 or t3 clearo on it.

how long have you been vaping? you might be having vapor's tongue. if so, it will go away in a few weeks.

if the juice isn't burning properly, either the battery is going bad or the connector pin is dirty. take a q-tip and clean out the contact pin. always have a backup battery especially if you are vaping on eGo battery.

Nothing helps vapers tongue but time! I had a serious bout with it a few weeks back. The important thing is knowing what it is and that it will pass. Chasing the flavor can cost a fortune, only to find nothing works. (See my signature) if you just know that it will pass and just keep vaping you will be by it in no time and on your way to happier days! Hope it doesn't last long for ya! Keep after it!

i suggest everything thats already been said and next time you have the chance find a couple of different juices and extra tanks for said juices so you can change it up now and then. personally i have 4 juices 2 dailly and 2 just for a change juices. i havent had to deal with vapor tongue since i started cause of switching it up. when one juice getting boring to my tongue it goes into the storage case and out comes the next one in line. and on the weekends when i am more likely to chain vape i use my just for a change juices.

Alright thanks, I'm a little relieved that it doesn't seem to much like a hardware issue from what everybody says. And to answer the other questions, like I said, I'm flat broke, this ego and these two clearos is all I have/tried. I plan on trying cartos and dripping once I get my taxes and what not.

if two different tanks are behaving the same, it can't be the tank. would either be the weak battery or vapor tongue. only thing that seems to help a bit with vapor's tongue is strong menthol flavor if you can stand it.

metallic taste usually comes from new tank. when you get a new tank, wash them. i usually throw them into a ultrasonic cleaner with some vodka.

I use T2s often and I sometimes get that burnt taste. For me, it's usually a coil/head issue. Sometimes you just get a bad one. If you have another, try it and see if it helps. You say it doesn't seem dry, so it's a bit of a mystery. Are you getting plenty of vapor from both the T2 and the T3?

I went thru an awful period at about my 2 month point where everything started tasting bad. Sort of the opposite of vapors tongue...call it awful tongue. I finally started using plain unflavored juice and that helped some. It took me about a month to get over it. (as a side note, unflavored can be really cheap)

Hope you work it out.

Burnt taste usually means dry coil... I'm stumped. I use both T2 and T3 clearos and they work very well. Are you saying yours are not Kanger? What's the resistance of our coils, do you know?

You may have burnt that rubber insulator inside but the chances of this happening on several different coils are pretty much zero.

I've been vaping a month and two weeks. And I already do clean my battery connectors with q tips so I know that's not the issue. So vapors tounge seems to be the more likely thing here?

Sent from my GS3

yes...
clean your battery contacts with a qtip..
and ..also lubricate the mouthpiece with KY jelly
And if that doesn't work....
Get a Provari

The only other thing I can think of is that I cleaned the battery/case with a q tip with a little bit of rubbing alcohol this morning, and let it dry thoroughly before charging or anything.

no, battery threads cleaned with Iso won't affect flavor. I clean mine all the time with 91% Isopropyl alcohol--it evaporates very quickly.

Well the t2 I got from a vape shop was sold to me as a kanger, but there is no brand marking on it so now I think otherwise. I know the replacement heads for my t2 are 1.8 and I havnt had any problem until this morning. And the t3 knock off, I got no clue, i just stopped after work this morning, bought it real quick and went home.

That's really strange. anyway--This is the best I can do:

Troubleshooting 101:

If your clearo is flooding, the connections are not tight enough--or too tight. Keep reading.

If you're using clearos and getting a burnt taste it means that not enough juice is getting to the coil and you're basically vaping dry, hot air or inhaling smoke from the gunk that's burning off of your coil. Not a good thing. Another case of bad taste maybe the tank itself--some arrive covered with some kind of nasty grease; wash them with soap and water (just the tanks--soak the coils in PGA or vodka).

There are a few things you need to remember when using a T3 or an eVod or a ProTank--in addition to keeping your coils clean and free of gunk that accumulates on them.

1) Make sure that the atomizer coil is screwed into the base tightly--every time you refill; they often come not fully tightened from the manufacturer, or may have gotten loose through repeated refills.

2) Look at all the inner seals and gaskets to make sure they haven't become dislodged.

3) Make sure that you screw the tank into its base tightly. If it's not tight, it will leak.

4) When you screw your clearomizer into your battery, do not overtighten--screw it in only until it makes contact--no farther, or you may push the center post in too deep and cause all kinds of problems, including leaking. When the draw becomes tight or the taste and vapor production begin to diminish, replace the coil. This will happen sooner (even as soon as one day of heavy use) if you're using dark, viscous, or very sweet juices. The old coil can be cleaned and dry burned.

5) Make sure you're not getting any juice in the center tube when you're filling--this will cause your eVod to leak like a sieve. If some juice gets into the tube, close the top cap, place a tissue under your tank and blow gently through the clearomizer to get rid of any excess eliquid. Also, extra condensation inside the tank may, on some occasions, drip back into the center tube. Wipe your mouthpiece dry with a q-tip or a tissue when you refill (or more often when/if needed).

6) Take an occasional "primer puff" (a slow draw without activating the battery) when you vape. It helps move the juice into the coil chamber and removes any air bubbles that sometimes form in the tank and may cause gurgling or impede proper wicking.

7) Take slow long draws rather than sharp and quick ones like we used to do while smoking cigarettes. Do not over vape, chain vape, power vape. Let the juice travel to the coil between drags.

and last but not least

8) Do not remove any flavor wicks if you're experiencing any leaking or flooding. Those wicks are there for a reason. If you feel that you have to remove a wick because your eliquid is particularly thick, do it carefully--one strand at a time. If your liquid is super thin, you can thicken it with a bit of VG (USP--pharma grade) or you can add another strand of cotton to your flavor wick. Don't add too much or you'll choke your atomizer and get a dry hit.

Also, make sure you're vaping at correct wattages; I like 5.5-7 watts.
