I'm just wondering if say I have my vw mode at 90 watts but the coils I'm using need more wattage for initial ramp up time. I understand now that the mod uses more voltage, amps to create more power if I have it set to high. But I'm wondering if the mod knows how much more power I need for these particular coils. Will the mod at 90 watts set to high always give off an already set amount of extra power or does this depend on how difficult the ramp up is. I can't figure this one out.

I think it will always give off the amount of extra power, and that should be consistent across builds, I think? I mean if you have it set to 90 watts to start, that's what it should give, until you start reaching the correct temperature, which will be faster or slower I guess, depending on how much metal you are heating up?

IDK, I believe I may have just contradicted myself right there, this is getting into Vape Calculations that are a bit much, for me. But, yeah, if you set the ramp up high, it's going to be high, unless your coil is already hot, I think, KWIM?

That may have been contradiction number 3 I better stop now, while I can still find my way out of the maze :lol:.

So that would mean that these settings have somewhat to do with temperature, even while I'm in VW mode.

Oh, my bad, I thought you were talking temperature, in wattage mode, I have no idea. I use user mode on my steampunk though and I actually have almost a preheat curve... Like, my first puff is usually anemic, but then it goes to my normal wattage as long as the coil's already hot. I believe that is what happens. If I ignore the mod for a bit, again my first puff is a little cooler (my little priming puff-- might annoy some folks, but not me.

That's about all I can say about that, but I guess apparently my mod can tell (either via time, or the heat of the coil) what is going to happen as I puff away.... Hmm. Never really thought about it that much, but that is what happens, hope that helps, D. :)

What kind of mod? I know on most with the high or hard setting it will fire slightly higher watts for a couple of seconds. This will help to heat up your coils quicker. Useful on thick coils like Claptons. After that it reverts back to your setting. I don't think the mod knows what setting you need to heat up your coil, but the power boost will help.
To answer your question, on my Capo it says that hard mode is 30% higher than the current setting for 3 seconds and soft mode is 20% lower
