same video I just watched. Out of curisoty of how it would be done. Looks easer with a drill press but I would probably drill a hole in a bottle cap for my 510 thread to sit in than hold a thin piece of wood (or something else soft),over the centre pin than very gently tap it out with a small tack hammer. Guss once it got started it would pull out from the bottom easier.

That sounds like a good potential hack... I will have to try it and report back! It is a good thing I have an arsenal of RDAs to hold me tight until I get things figured out!

My wife actually just had me move all the vape stuff to our spare bedroom. She had already set up a table and a pseudo-workbench with added lighting when I got home from work. It was really very sweet of her, and it has streamlined things considerably. I think when she stepped on a snippet of 28ga kanthal barefoot it was the last straw.
Oh man! I keep waiting for this to happen to her or me! I'm hoping its me, because she will kill me. I don't think she will be as sweet as your wife! More likely I will wake up chained to the bed with some 20ga!

I started clipping mine directly over the trash can under my desk, but no mater how good I try and aim it, I still cant get it in the hole sometimes!
Ill be running my hands over the carpet trying desperately to find it before my wifes foot does, fully expecting a nasty jab to my hand, but I can never find it!But the drill press is going to looking really nice next to the floor lamp in my office! Smoking an atty is pretty impossible. You said you used hot water. Did you take it all apart and will canned air blow it out? Also inspect the insulators. If there is ANY moisture anywhere in the atty it will read an error. Remove all the screws, posts, and insulators. Make sure they are all dry and reassemble. I bet it will be fine.
Thanks for the alternate perspective... It was erroring out before I cleaned it in boiling water... It was working fine before I dry fired it... It doesnt sound all that impossible to fry an insulator, sounds like people here have done it, and they sell insulator replacement kits, which means there is a demand for it. Despite the obvious I can try sticking the atty in some rice for the next 24hrs, that will dry out the wettest of attys, phones, and kittens.. It certainly cant hurt! Thanks again for the response.
I have to adjust my center screw in my cloupor mini with certain rdas idk but maybe try that
