Tugboat RDA

Recently bought a tiffany blue copper tugboat mod...and i LOVE it. I also bought the Tugboat rda and have only used it a couple times. I'm pretty good at building and I just can't seem to get a decent build on it. Any suggestions? I looked at a couple threads on here..one had some pics of it even being fired...WEAK. But he was totally stoked about it so good for you bro! I'm currently using my TUGBOAT mod with a little boy rda with twisted 24 gauge dual coil build..oh and sub zero battery 2800 mah...BEAST

Hello and welcome, I would skip the twisted 24 for now the heat up time is long. Go back to the basics with a 24 or 26 guage 5/6 wraps with a 5/64 drill bit.

Hi Cris and welcome aboard!

Sthur has given some good advice above regarding your build - you likely have too much wire mass with the build you described, and it's slow to heat up as a result.

I don't know about your experience, so forgive me if some of this is already known to you.

I looked for a Sub Zero battery 2800 mah, but with nos success. I suspect what you have MAY be a SUBOHMCELL 18650 35amp 2800 maH Battery. If so, please be aware that we don't know of any battery that has a CDR (Continuous Discharge Rate) of 30 amps, so most likely, that's the pulse rating, which shouldn't be used when designing you coils with safety in mind - always use the CDR.

We don't currently know of any batteries that have a CDR of over 30 amps.

The SUBOHMCELL 18650 35amp 2800 maH Battery is likely a 20 amp CDR (couldn't find specific specification, but that's what most batteries that have a pulse rating of 35 amps are). Also, on January 2, 2015 they changed the makeup of that battery, and it's apparently not as good as the old version. Here's a link:

It's only a suggestion, but IMHO, you should stick to well-known batteries from known reliable sources. Wouldn't want bad things to happen because of an unknown, possibly re-wrapped battery with dubious specs.
