+1. It's very possible that the clones originate from the same plant that produces "originals."

I don't think so.

Go to Alibaba.com and type in Ego.

There are literally hundreds of factories making these things and only one of them is the Joye company. Maybe they have licensing agreements with other factories but I doubt it.

Even the name Joye seems easily stolen and used. But there's only one Joye Tech company, yet several manufacturers using that name too;

Knock offs are what the Chinese specialize in.

The Chinese are notorious for signing proprietary manufacturing agreements and then selling the technology out the back door to other plants. So, you get look-alikes made using the same engineering documents as the original. The quality may vary, but you learn to trust some suppliers and not others. They have to be equally careful to only buy from manufacturers who produce a quality product. You don't build a strong business when you have to process high numbers of returns and allowances.

From that pic I cant see a pouch, the price is a bit low and everyone knows how heavily branded an eGo-T is but yet not a single logo to be seen. Personally I dont mind buying a knock off if it is re branded but I refuse to knowingly make a purchase when it should be clear to the vendor that they are misleading a customer.

I am sure it will work as intended but to answer the question I am going to call fake on this one.

My Ego was my first purchase and it was not a joye-tech. It was actually a non branded ego-t. Looked exactly the same as the joye, with out the branding. Granted there are knock offs of everything but most are probably all the same and interchangeable.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sure most new products start off as "no names" and get purchased by big vendors to slap on their logos and charge more for the reliable, trusted name. Joyetech, ovale, TW. You pay more knowing your getting the product your looking for and not a knock off. I wouldn't stress it without trying it first.

Yes and no Teeto. Many companies buy egos from Joyetech and many other manufacturers and rebrand them with their own names. However Joyetech is the original manufacturer of the joye ego and many companies, including TW and OVALE buy directly from Joyetech and rename the exact same product from the exact same factory. Also, some have said that many of the knockoffs also came from the Joyetech factory and that they contain internal batteries made by Joyetech that may not have passed Joyetech quality control standards but still work fairly well.

Having worked on assembly lines, I can tell you from experience (2 different manufacturers, 2 completely different product lines) the line doesn't stop because the packaging and labeling/tagging changes. And in both situations, inspection occurred after packaging and just before packing.

This isn't 100% the case, but really, really often.

Vape on . . . and enjoy!!:vapor:

Oh dude it doesn't matter, it's all the same made-in-China template. Doesn't mean it'll perform worse. It's simple. A company goes to China to have a device developed/made, and when all is said and done, China runs with the design, to whoever will buy it. Egos certainly aren't the only device this has happened with. Lava Tubes are HUGE on the knock off market.
