So I really wanted the VTC5 and spent $40 for 2 on ebay. I looked at all the real vs fake photos before buying and I got the batteries and they vape pretty good but one thing caught my attention. The sticker on it seems suspect. It is a silver sticker with the IMR 18650 2600maH 3.7v with a plus sign on one end and a minus at the bottom but it says MADE IN CHINA underneath. Have these ever been made in China? Seller claims authentic! My VTC4 has no verbiage, just the maH rating. Did I get swindled?

the seller is captainvapor on ebay.

No, the Sony's have never been made in China. They were made in Japan (before the earthquake) but have since moved production to the Philippines.

Sony Real vs Fake.jpg

Only buy batteries from a reputable supplier (not ebay or Amazon) as there are many counterfeit batteries being sold. Here are several reputable battery suppliers in the US.

* RTD Vapor
* Illumination Supply
* Lighthound
* Orbtronics

Was the VTC5 ever produced in China? It passed all the eye tests in the pictures I've seen with the fake vs real comparisons it's just that China line that has me worried. Then again I've heard there are really good fakes out there. Guess I'll buy some more VTC4's from the shop by my work those are legit according to the merchant. I really wanted that extra 500 maH though.

They counterfeit other products which look identical to the original at first glance, so I don't see why they wouldn't copy the labels and wrappers. Seems like that would be the easy part...the only way to know is to buy from authorized resellers.
So are the fake just complete crap and possibly dangerous or is it okay to use on my less cared for modz?
