I'll start off by saying that I am VERY new to vaping but also deeply committed to sticking to it to keep me away from cigarettes. I was a PAD smoker for 3 years, and I know that smoking will deaden your taste bids quite a bit. I'm now noticing that when I vape, I can fully taste the juice for the first two days, then - nearly nothing! I can still taste my food and beverages, so i'm not quite sure what's going on here.

My setup is an 1100 mAh KGO batt with LR Boge cartos. The flavors I'm using at the moment are Dark Chocolate Mint and Bavarian Hazelnut Cream Coffee from Highbrow - both pure VG, 18mg. I've been using my cartos for two days and refilling when low. Any thoughts??

Temporary taste loss is common. It usually comes back. Nic can have that effect. Then there's the "I've vaped too much of one flavor" factor... like with anything. You start to ignore the taste after a while. Happens with food/beverage too (for me anyway).

The good news is that your sense of taste will improve over time (IDK how long you've been off the stinkies... maybe it already has). The bad news is that you have to switch juice flavors around a bit if you don't want to get desensitized to it.

I agree with AttyPops: temporary taste loss is very common when you first start vaping.

You might want to try alternating flavors using two or more setups. At first, I used four, each loaded with contrasting flavors, and I would rotate every few drags. Even now, fourteen months later, I still alternate among three.

I only direct drip on a 510 atomizer for best taste and best performance... Even then attys will lose their taste after usage when compared to a new one.......

Tasting your vapor is mostly smelling it. I don't think the tastebuds do much and most of what you taste is actually up in your nose. You may have noticed that your "smeller" can adapt if you've ever been in a stinky environment like a dump or a barn and after a while you don't notice the smell as much. Changing flavors frequently can help.

LOL I used to do this too. But I've managed to ween myself down to 2. Mainly due to the inconvenience of carrying a ton of crap to work. Well, between that and all the head swapping now that I've got a Provari anyway.

However if I could have 15 provari's, at home I'd probably still be running 15 different flavors. :laugh:

As hairball stated it's very important to drink lottsa water. I drink 1 1/2 litres per day.
The flavors I'm using at the moment are Dark Chocolate Mint and Bavarian Hazelnut Cream Coffee from Highbrow - both pure VG, 18mg.

VG= Vapor
PG-= TH and enhances flavor
You may want to try adding some PG to your juice.

I'm with you on this. Some other great advice was already given here. Another thing I have considered in the past is going variable voltage. Instead I have decided to just get a genesis type rebuild-able - as I believe it will give me the flavor and flexability+tinkering I crave.

Thanks for all the advice and tips, guys! As it turns out, I think it was a combination of not drinking enough water and needing to add more variety to my juice repertoire. I had been drinking Pepsi (no water) on Saturday when I posted this and didn't think much of the lack of water intake; there's water in Pepsi, right? Haha! Of course, anything with caffeine in it is a diuretic, so I realize I wasn't retaining much water in my system. I actually took a few big gulps of water and then vaped and - voila! - I could taste my juice again!

As for the juices I was vaping, I actually meant to say 100% PG rather than VG. I'm still experimenting with the mixes that work for me. I get the feeling a 70/30 or 80/20 mix will work nicely.

But once again, THANK YOU for all the tips!! I swear, this forum is a blessing. Without your voices, I know I'd be lost (as so many newbies would be, too) and would probably end up going back to the analogs. So glad I have the support here. :)

I think that's what I'm going through now. I love the White peach Ala Zoe from ecblend and I ordered a few bottles of it. Right after I get the new bottles of course the flavor is completely gone. When I vape something else it tastes amazing. I guess I just have to come back to it in a week or two.
