I just ordered an ego (USB bat) with two LR attomizers. I've only been using an 808 with cartos up to this point. I am really looking forward to my new purchase. Everything I've read about the ego is quite positive. But I'm curious if I may have gone overboard on how many empty cartriges I also ordered. I have 15 on the way. Is that too many? From what I've read its seems to be quite easy to simply pull the filler out and replace it when changing flavors. I plan on doing the blue foam mod with them. So will 15 empty cartriges last me forever?

Also any tips on ego maintenance will be welcomed.

Thanks

15 cartridges doesn't seem excessive, assuming you stick with using carts. I had about 20, but got tired of 'em and now almost exclusivey drip, so my carts are just sitting around. But, you could use them for occasionally allowing a friend to try your eGo without using your drip tip or carto. It's not like the carts were a big investment.

As for maintenance, the issue of atty maintenance has been covered over and over, so I won't open that can of worms. As for the battery and charger, I periodically clean the battery and charger contact points with a Q-tip and alcohol. I find there is some black build-up that comes out.

If that's your worst purchase you're in good shape! You probably won't use them all, but here is a Pay it Forward board, and you could offer them there, check the wants and needs section, whatever. Someone could use them. Or just hang on to them, you never know maybe a future mod will require them.

Maybe not forever, but be content in knowing that you have a good supply of cartridges in the event that some get a little melted around the bottom and you feel like swapping for a fresh one.

Also, that many carts means you've got an ample supply of the basic filler to run through before you need to switch to blue foam. ^_^

15 carts per type of device is probably a good number as they do wear out. After topping off for a while some carts will get loose fitting so will need to be replaced. I'm a little rough on equipment anyway, so replacing a cart as soon as it's showing signs of wear is a bit safer than risking dropping and damaging a battery. On the plus side, 510 and 901 carts seem to wear better than carts for exposed attys for me. I've launched my 108 and L88b's more than once because of loose carts.
