Okay so I got a vision spinner 2 and latley it hasnt been holding a charge at all, even when I charge it for 10-11 hours over night the light on the charger wont say its done charging and the light on the spinner is still on.

When I unplug it and use it from here rhe battery will die normaly within a hour- hour and a half

Now I did notice that this problem did only start after using the wall adapter that came with my samsung galaxy s5 cellphone to charge the spinner, I thought since it was stronger it would charge it faster which is where I might have made a newb assumption.

So this is the info on the back of the samsung wall adapter

input 100-240 v. 50-60Hz .35A
Output 5.3v -- 2.0A

Now I have no idea what any of that means but this is what it says on the wall charger that I got at my vape store, it was really cheap, like 5 bucks or somthing.

Input. 100-240v 50-60Hz 0.1A
Ouput 5.0v =500mA

And then the cable I have that actualy connect the battery to the wall charger says this
Input DC5v
Output DC 4.2v= 420mA

Any help would be greatly apprecaited as I only have 1 day left (today) to replace this spinner at the vape shop before the warranty expires.

Did I do damage to the spinner being able to hold a charge by charging I with the samsung?

If not should the spinner battery of charged using the samsung wall adapter? Bc it didnt.

And last but not least should it still work aka charge completlt and hold a charge if I go back to using the wall adapter I got at the vape shop

The wall charger shouldn't worry it. It won't charge any faster no matter which wall charger you use as it is limited by the charger that connects to the battery which in your case is 420mA. I had the same issue you are describing with a different battery and it turned out the charger was just faulty, I have had 2 ego style chargers do that so far.

Only way to be sure though is to try a different battery or charger.

My boyfriend and I have the new vision spinner batteries and have learned through trial and error that if you don't charge your battery with the right amount of watts/volts... it doesn't charge properly. He kept complaining that his would die quick and he was totally unhappy with it. Me on the other hand, I was very pleased that mine would stay charged Forever! I charge mine with my samsung s4 adapter and the ego connector that came with the battery. That works great. His phone came with the same LOOKING adapter however the watts/amps printed on it was a lower output and it wasn't charging his battery even after hours and hours on charge. This is gonna sound crazy but try reversing the plug in the plug in. In other words, just unplug ur adapter...turn it 360 degrees and plug it back in. The plugs don't have one wider leg so u can actually reverse the polarity and it won't charge ur battery but it will still charge ur phone. This is what samsung told me and I thought they were nuts but it actually made all the difference in the world. Something else I have noticed.... It may turn yellow but the yellow will last 4ever on this thing. I'm happy with it now and so is my BF now that his is actually lasting more than an hour. I don't think you have hurt your battery though. My adapter has the same output as urs and mines great! Wish ya much luck......

Well its deff not faulty bc I use it to charge my phone everyday and it works, mad fast too.

I wish I had a couple more days to figure this out b4 the warranty ran out but I think im just gunna return it anyways to be safe it just sucks bc they dont have any more in the color I want
I belive the charger itself, not your usb power supply may be suspect.

Your ego charger circuitry is located in the box part you screw the spinner on to.

The ego charger will only use the current it needs from the usb power supply it is plugged into. A larger supply like your tablet supply that you are using is not a problem.

Thanks guys well I charged in last night for 11 hours on the cheap 5 dollar charger and so far it has lasted 3 hours of use and hasnt died yet so mybe it just is tempermental to which charger its on for some reason, or it could have been what you said about the polarity and it was just coincidence that I had it plugged in the right way that time

Well my shop I got it at is open until 7pm tonight so I got some hours to put the battery to the test and see how it fairs before I decide if I want to return it for a new one.

Jackie NC I havnt read the link you posted before I wrote this reply but im guna read it right now

Ok so in that link it says this

• The vision Spinner II can display three colors on the button to indicate the battery usage levels.

• If the button displays a White color when the battery is on, that indicates a remaining 60%-100% in battery power.

• If the battery displays a Blue color when battery is on, it indicates a remaining 30%-60% battery power left.

• If the button displays an orange color when the battery is on, that indicates a remaining 0%-30% in battery power ( that means its time to charge your battery!).

• If The button flashes fifteen times in a mixed pattern color that means theres no power at all left in battery and it can no longer function without being properly charged again.

now my spinner never changes color, even when it is dead it will just blink like 10 ir 15 times and then be dead and everytime I try to turn it on it will just keep blinkin like that but the light is always white.

Does this mean I got ripped off by my shop and got a noname/clone of the vision spinner 2 or is it because mine is a 1300mah and the different colors only comes on the 1600?

Okay thankyou jackienc

For everyone else this is what the link shows in regard to my question

• The Vision Spinner II like all ego & 510 batteries, requires a standard usb charger of 420mah as well as a wall adapter of 500mah output. Any use of non-standard chargers with higher outputs such as iPhone & android chargers, can likely damage the battery and cause unwanted consequences therefore the useof non standard chargers on Vision Spinner II's is strictly prohibited and immediately invalidates the warranty.

So on the back of my cheap charger where it says

output: 5.0v= 500mA
Does that mean 500mah?? The 500mah that the spinner2 website says I need to use ?

so I will be bringing it back today and replacing it and only using the proper charger.... and I deff wont be telling them that I used anyother charger thann the one they sold me ; p

Also how do I know which way to plug my charger into the socket if it really makes a differance bc of polarity ot somthin like that. Or does it really not matter?

For any battery being charged, its wise to remove the battery from the charger soon after the charger indicates that the battery is fully charged. This is when the indicator light on the charger turns from red to green. If it is taking more than 3 1/2 hours to fully charge an eGo battery there is something wrong with either the battery, charger, or usb/wall adaptor.

The charger stops providing a full charge to the battery when it indicates a full charge (green light). However, all batteries begin to drop a full charge immediately after a charge, so the charger will continue to provide a "trickle charge" to the battery in order to keep it at a full charge. Batteries don't like that and minor internal damage occurs if this is done repeatedly over time, affecting the overall lifetime expectancy of the battery.

If you are one who routinely charges their battery overnight while you are sleeping, you are shortening the life expectancy of your battery over the long haul. Remove the battery from the charger as soon as the charger indicates a full charge. Put it on a timing device to automatically shut off the charger/wall adaptor if you are not around to turn it off yourself.

I also recommend charging your batteries on a flame-resistant surface. Statistically, more battery incidents occur while charging than during actual use of the battery. Since lithium ion batteries are a volatile chemistry which can burst into flames and explode when they go into thermal runaway, charging on a stove top, marble countertop, metal baking pan, or pyrex dish will cover all bases should there be a fire or explosion.

eGocharger.jpgeGo USB wall adaptor.jpg

I recommend to use ONLY the eGo charger and the eGo usb/wall adaptor offered by the battery manufacturer who made your battery. Some vendors will tell you you can use any usb/wall adaptor or charger to charge your batteries. Well, there are too many products on the market which don't meet the manufacturers' requirements for their battery/charger to make a broad statement like that.

Keep your battery top connector clean and dry. Clean it daily if it requires it. E-liquid can corrode the metal of the connector resulting in connectivity issues with your charger and tanks. A paper towel or cotton tip applicator with some rubbing alcohol works best.

Do not allow any liquid to come into contact with the fire/power button. There's a wire there and liquid can short out the battery.

Ego batteries do not need to run down completely to charge them. They can be topped off at any time; in fact charging them before they completely discharge will improve their overall life expectancy.

Well I just got back from the B and M and they hooked me up with a new battery,, while it wasnt the color I wanted at least its not broken. From now on I will only charge it using my charger that came with my ego t starter kit, while this isnt the charger that the vision spinner gives with their starter kit it does meet the specifications given on their website.

Hopefully everything goes goodd. The only thing is that I dont think my charger will tell me when its done, I have only seen it turn green a few times with my 650mah ego t and it normaly will just blink inbetween red and green with it being red 2 sec then green like .25 second. So I will just have to approximate and wont leave it on more than 3 or 4 hours and see how that goes as far as battery life with the spinner and down the road buy a new charger

Hopefully I dont run into more problem but if I do, god forgib, they gave me another 14 day warranty from today on the new battery I got free of charge. I really dont want ro have to walk into that shop with another broken battery in the next two weeks ill feel like a Ahole. Well only time will tell.

I think it was a combo of me using a cellphone wall adapter and leaving it plugged in over night all the time, wven though the battery was only 2 weeks old I cant think of anything else

Guess I need to make sure we're talkin about the same battery... does ur's say Spinner II on the battery itself? Maybe you have the original version which does not change colors I don't believe. The rest remains the same however. The polarity thing I have found, is really important... I hope urs is workin now

OOPS ..... I didn't realize you already got a new one... is it the II?
