HI Jill :)
Those are stabilized & dyed wood burl. They are fabulous to hold...kinda like polished stone. Gil has the Nebula. Rob has recently purchased a bunch of staburl for this next run of Woodvils, the 18490 version. You will see more of these and in a variety of colors. Here is one that I have, courtesy of Gil

Right now Rob has some of that stabilized wood and will be using it on REO's. You can buy the wood you would like and send it to him to make your own Woodvil. He has used the wood for doors on a few Mini Woodvils. We will have to see what he turns out to know!
that is beautiful, in the exact colors i would choose - how do i get a hold of one of those???are they available ina mini??

thanks,

Jill

Just be aware that if you want to special order one for yourself, he is not taking special orders at this time. His main focus right now is the next batch of metal mods and the first run of the 18490 Woodvils....some of which will be in these fabulous staburl woods. You can either shop for a special piece of wood and find out when he's ready to start accepting orders or you can wait to see what is available when he posts pictures of the next batch in production.

So, you're saying the midi's will have this finish? Oh, my gosh, I can't wait!!!! Do we have an eta on these? I'm praying I won't be working that day so I can hopefully get my order in for say a green one, hint hint? By the way where do I get these batteries? I'd like to be prepared.

To my knowledge, Rob has not yet said for sure what REO's will have the stabilized wood. We don't know if only doors will be made with the stabilized or the whole REO. As in all wood REO's no two will be alike. Colors and patterns will be different.
As far as batteries, one place you can find them is here:
http://www.rtdvapor.com/AW-IMR-18650-Battery-AW-IMR-18650.htm The Midi will take the AW IMR 18490

Is the 18490 only available in high drain? I'm using trustfire 14500's in my mini and I like them better than the aw imr 14500's. Not sure why, just do. Thanks!

I am not sure if there are other manufacturers or protected versions, of the 18490. I do know that the recommended battery for all REO's is the AW IMR. Make sure the battery you use does not compress the spring too much. This is important because the spring in the REO is made to collapse in case of a short. This allows the battery to fall away from the contact point. If the spring does not have room to collapse it can cause more damage to your REO. The recommended battery allows the spring plenty of room to collapse.

Well, I just ordered a pila charger and 2 aw imr 18490's so I'll be ready for the midi when it comes out. Now I just have to hope I'll be off the evening of it's debut. I love my minis but am looking forward to a slightly warmer vape and longer battery life. I won't be able to take it to work with me ( very dirty place and dropped my mini more times than I care to admit) but it will be great for my free time. Oh my gosh, I can't wait!!!!!

Update: Rob was on the thread last night and mentioned there will be around 50 stabilized Midi's on release. He is going to put up the pics a day or two before release so we can look and drool! His plan it to have 200 Midi's ready!

Tried a lower resistance atty when I first got my mini but it tasted burnt. I asked about it in the forum and Rob said because I vape sweet juice (teaberry) I needed to use a standard. Been using standard ever since and it tastes great. I asked abouit a warmer vape some time ago and was told because the mini is aluminum it was cooler but the woodvilles use copper so they are a bit warmer. No matter I want a stabilized (hopefully some sort of green) midi. Now it's just waiting to find out when they'll be up on the site so I can hopefully order one. Thanks!

You are correct, but different juices react differently. Since you are using a different teaberry, you might want to give a 2.0 ohm another try. It would be warmer and your current juice may taste great on it :)
