Did they ever respond to the last whitehouse.gov petition?

From what I understand you will get an email, if you signed the petition, when they respond. I've heard it takes a while for the response to come out. It does seem to be taking longer and I hope that it means they are taking it seriously and not releasing a standard blow us off statement.

Never think this was for nothing! You used your voice and it was used along with many others. There IS power in numbers. :)

Online petitions suck, regardless of who runs them... There's been quite a few change.org / petitions.whitehouse.org petitions that just go ignored, or responded to with nonsense (just look at the Obama-meter). At this point, I think if you want them to change something, you'll have to run for office yourself. :(

I got an email with this image and a link from some website complaining about the Marlboro miles program being discontinued.

He was young back then. We all know he smoked, no new news there.

True enough. And I hear he's hooked on the gum now.

So when the FDA gets round to issuing their "deeming" stuff and the public comment period is open, I was thinking of badgering CASAA to start a letter writing campaign. No, letters. Nobody does that anymore. Good old fashioned, lick a stamp stuff. Love him, hate him, or just don't care, Obama is one of us. I suspect a direct appeal to the President that isn't e-anything but makes people open envelopes and haul bags around might get some attention.

(E-stuff is too easy. I have, for example, an "account" with an activist group and signing a petition is clicking a button. An actual, old fashioned paper and stamp mail campaign must be rare as hen's teeth these days. I think it could get noticed.)

I had some issues with the VA healthcare system... I went on a letter writing campaign...wrote them, put them in envelopes, stamped them and mailed them....IT WORKED....phone calls and emails were totally ineffective. There is something to be said, even in the electronic age, for the personal touch.
