As of today, October 2nd, 2013 at 11 am Pacific time, I have been without an Analog cigarette for 5 days. I am VERY surprised, and happy how awesome Vaping works! I have been a smoker for over 35 years and NOTHING helped, and many in my way barely survived and broke down begging me to have a ciggie.
What got me to this point most recently was recently hearing my mother now has lung cancer. She is now currently in a rest home. Before that, her brother also died of lung cancer last year. Before that was her older sister died of lung cancer (back in the 80's) - she was only 42 years old.
I am under a lot of stress (I have 10 year old twin boys of which one has autism) I did sort of quit for my children when carrying them, then started up again due to the stress. Then again I tried to quit only to start again after hearing of our one twin son's Autism diagnosis. Now my mom.
I've been really tired of coughing my lungs out in the morning. So I gave the Magic 25 cig filters a try. They worked in a way by actually showing me what black tar and more was getting caught but I still smoked more than ever with them. I knew more black gunk was still entering my lungs. What I found so strange is that even when I tried to clean the used filters with 90% rubbing alcohol, much of the black gunk would NOT come off.. I can only imagine what my lungs look like.
Then on the local news recently, Oregon lawmakers are debating on TAXING e-cigs! That ticked me off even though I was not a vaper user (yet) So I bought over 500 bucks worth of various vapers, e-juice flavors and strengths of nic and waited for it all to arrive. My husband, a non-smoker, feared if this would work and prepared for the ranting wife if without a ciggie.. but is so surprised how vaping is working for me! AS AM I! Believe me, I WAS a hard core 1.5 PAD smoker. Full flavor 100's.
Right when I started vaping, the very next day, 24 hours of being with out an analog, I gathered the rest of my carton of cigs, packed them up in a freezer zip lock bag and hid them deep down in our basement freezer. I've tossed out my old big ashtray and hid the lighters near our emergency candles.
Also, just yesterday, on the local Portland, Oregon news, now they are going to raise Cig tax another 10%
I wished I had started vaping years ago!
