Didn't like e-cigs, but questions as to why.

I quit smoking about 1.3 years ago (was a pack a day for 20 years). Recently, I've been getting the urge to smoke, and instead of firing up I figured I'd give the e-cigs a try.
I got the kr808d1 starter kit < Could it be that the reason I'm not digging it is because I've been without smoking for so long? Would a different brand kit do me better?

FWIW: I tried the 16mg and the 12mg cartridges. Neither one of them did anything for me, but give me a headache.

Hey there DBW

Im in exactly the same boat. Ive not smoked for 2 years the last 6 months have been agony so badly wanted to smoke. I got myself a nicorette inhalator from the doctors and was okish but didnt satisfy the hand to mouth, blowing smoke habit. Then I saw some disposable e-cigs in the chemist which really did the job however after 12 hrs died and at £6.96 ago was proving super expensive. Hence I started searching the web and by luck I stumbled accross ECF and honestly I dont know why I didnt look 2 years ago. Giving up anologs was the most difficult and painful experiance I've ever had short of having babies, I kid you not smoking is some serious addiction. ( as i'm sure you know) however since being here I've purchased myself a Riva 510 and some juices and im in 7th heaven. Don't give up at the first go, keep looking about at differant PV and ask on here the other members are super friendly and a wealth of knowledge!

Hope it goes well for you.

I certainly do know how hard it is to quit. When I first decided to quit --through research-- I kept finding things saying "the first 3 days are the hardest, then after a few weeks it's all down hill" WRONG!! It was almost a year before I started feeling comfortable not smoking... and my digestive system is just now getting straight.
It was the hardest thing I've ever done as well.

Hi dbw. Pleasure to make your acquaintance. :)

I hope you realize how far you've already come. 1.3 years?! Damn. I'm glad that you looked into smoking cessation instead of going back to the analogs.

I think if you invest in a better PV with, dare I say, 0mg nic juice to do away with those pesky headaches... And maybe keep around a bottle of 4 or 6mg for the days when you're feeling frisky. ;)

Welcome!

+1 lower nic juice, your bod had detoxed. But keep in mind vaping is not smoking. It won't be exactly the same, no smoke for one thing (no killers from smoke) and flavor is different. I don't think you need a "better" PV, 808 does the trick, but you need the juice with the right flavor/nic to refill your cartomizers. Good luck!

I've not been in your situation but I know how strong the smoking addiction can be...even after a few months without stinky sticks. There are other ingredients in tobacco smoke besides the nicotine that could be the root cause...MAOI's. These alkaloids act in concert with nicotine to extend the dopamine release in the brain and are a common antidepressant. One thing that is commonly used here is swedish snus...an oral tobacco that is pasteurized instead of fire cured and is considered safer then american snuff. This may help you and could be used while using a 0mg nic juice and the ecig you are using currently.

Since you have been off nic for a long time now your reaction is to the nicotine and not the PV. You need to change your juices and not the PV. Many of the 808 vendors sell prefilled cartos with o mg juice or better yet get blank ones and fill your own with some of the many fine juices available through he vendors here.

Definitely start with 0 mg juice first though as you don't want to go back to the nic addiction. Your cravings may even have nothing to do with nic as there are many other components to the addiction of smoking such as hand to mouth actions.

Shaboom, shaboom? Which song are you referring to? If you're referring to "life is but a dream", actually, none of us was alive when the song I'm quoting was written - Row, Row, Row Your Boat. But thanks anyway.
