Whats the difference between sealed and unsealed battery connectors (besides the obviouse) mainly why would you chose one over the other are there advantages to either one or are they for different applications. what exactly is sealed ?
Unsealed connectors have a small hole for air flow to a pressure switch on automatic batteries. So it can tell if you puff on it. Sealed connectors, like those on manual batteries, do not have this hole and are thus, "sealed" against juice leaking into the battery area.
Sealed connectors are also preferred if you're into dripping, as mentioned above, avoiding leak through.
If you want to bottom feed your device, then a hole would of course be mandatory as the feed tube would go through it.
Also, some types of attys need the hole to work properly as they have no air hole in the side. For example, the 801 atty needs the hole I believe, or it will not draw at all.
