Hello all,

I am currently using an ecig starter kit from a company called steamlite. They sell normal cartomizers and some e-liquid cartomizers (which I think are clearomizers but not sure). Now I thought I could just order for the e-liquid cartomizers and use them with the battery I got with the starter kit. But when I spoke with the customer care there, they are telling me that the batteries for both are different. Is it that way? I do not know. I have been trying to find out searching here and there and am new to this world of vaping so a lot of terms and jargons do not make much sense (as of now). Can somebody enlighten me on this?

That is going to to depend on what threads you have on your battery and what threads the cartos/clearos use. ie: 510, 808. Your going to have to tell us more about what you have and what your trying to use it with. If u dont know just post some links to the stuff. and we will be able to help you out better.

First off thanks so much both of you for taking the time and effort you have put to look at the site.

Looking at the Steamlite India site, their cartomizers and clearomizers appear to all be 510 threaded, so the same battery will work for both.

That is what I also thought at first but the customer care guys are telling me that the battery for the clearomizer is slimmer than the normal one. I don't know if by that they mean that the battery voltages are different for both. They have a facebook page. Will try and post this question there and see if anybody who has used it is able to throw some light on it

If your looking for something to use e juice with may I suggest the EVOD its relatively cheap and probably a million times better then what they are going to sell you.

Thanks for the suggestion. The EVOD here in India I am able to buy from a local vendor online for around 10 times the cost than the one being sold by steamlite. But for now I would want to just try various juices with maybe the steamlite one and then once I have settled on some will go for the EVOD one.

Welcome to the forum! I'm a little confused why they are telling you this. Can you perhaps post pictures of what you have now, and show the threads?
If what they are selling you is pre-filled, I guess it's possible to have different threads. One may be a 510 thread, and perhaps the other an 808 maybe?
I have to leave the house, but I'll try to remember to check their site when I get back home.
Can you buy e-liquid there? It would be cheaper than the pre-filled they will sell you.

Thanks for the welcome. I can post the pictures but i do not know when. Maybe later in the day today since I am in office right now. I would really appreciate it if you could have a look. Regarding e-liquid, yes I can buy from them and that is what I intend to do, though they just have 6-7 flavors. Once I am sure about the how much I need daily, will start looking at other juice stops.

I don't have first hand knowledge, but I am nearly certain the eliquid cartomizers would work just fine on the original battery you have. In the product description of the starter kit it mentions "The New SteamLite Sample E Vaporizer is the same as provided in all SteamLite E Vaporizer Kits." I can't find any mention or option of a second type of battery. Not sure why customer service would suggest otherwise.

Sorry I can't help more... good luck to you.

Ok so I took some pictures of the cartomizer I have. They are not clear but I hope you are able to make out the threading

Also here is the image of the clearomizer from the steamlite site

Now looking at both it seems the threading is the same. But I asked this question again on their facebook page and the official response is again that the batteries are different for both and I should order them separately. Should I still go ahead and order the clearomizer set to try it out? For some reason they are not selling the battery and charger separately and they can only be bought as part of a kit.

Thanks again to everyone for your support. :toast:

To be frank, this is the first time I have been part of a forum where people are so eager to help :). Makes me want to ask more questions. I have been part of other forums where members are not so generous and my posts have sunk into oblivion at the speed of light without even being noticed:p. I am just very glad with the kind of support I am getting here so there is not need to be sorry but I do need luck with this so will keep your wishes. Thanks again and happy vaping :vapor:

Well, I really hate to say it, but is the eGo twist, or spinner available where you live, and can you purchase e-liquid? I know it's more money spent, but in the long run I think you will see a savings. Tank systems are available (at least in the US) you will be more satisfied with.

Well yes, both are available from an Indian vendor but when I compare the prices, for instance, with HealthCabin then the ego twist with the charger from the Indian vendor is for around $45 where as from HealthCabin it is $26. Of course, if I am just ordering the battery then getting it from the local vendor should work out since the shipping cost from HealthCabin would be at least $20 and then there is the custom duty (which I have no clue how much it would be) which would work out to be more than what I would get from the local vendor. But then I have a colleague in office and if we order together from HealthCabin with T3 clearomizers, coils, liquids, we figured that we should still be able to save. I am still trying to get more information on the customs duty payable here and will only take a decision after that. Till then both me and my colleague are sticking with the cartomizers. Thanks for your suggestion again.
