Different types of tanks

First off, sorry if this is in the wrong section, I was going to post it in one of the PV specific subforums, but had no idea which one. Onto the question, I have no idea if mine is an Atty anymore. I thought it was, but now I don't know. Is it a Clearomizer, Atomizer or Cartomizer? I've tried looking this up but just don't understand the difference.

I also heard someone saying something about not having wicks in their Atty. So, if you have no wick, there's no need to replace the wick, which saves time and money. Can somebody explain to me how I can get a wickless atty/clearo/carto, if there is one, and what the differences are between wick and wickless, and the differences between atty/clearo/carto's?

Atomizer-coil/resistor with wick

Clearomizer-atomizer inside a tank. Bottom coils, the coil and wicks are in a tube at bottom. Top coils, coil and wicks are in top, making wicks go down in the tank. The iclear 30s has it's wicks inside the tube.

Cartomizer- coil is surrounded by wick in a tube, can be used with our without a tank. To me, carto tanks are the second best delivery methods.

Rebuildable atomizers-RBA..make your own coil with desired wick type. Can be used with a tank- RTA or as a dripper-RDA. It doesn't get much better than a perfectly functioning RBA. I actually took a while to buy RBAs like the kayfun. I knew I would end up replacing (I guess you can say replace) my carto tanks with them. In the long run, they're cheaper for me. Cotton balls, kanthal, and liquid is all I'll have to buy for them.

Well whichever mine is I still don't know. I know my wick detaches from my tank at the bottom, I'm assuming that is where the coils are? So Clearomizer maybe?

That's the problem, I don't. I got it at a shop nearby. Overpriced as hell, won't be going back. My old tank died on me and I wanted to return to vaping that day. I'll post a picture of it in a few mins, maybe you can tell by looking at it.

Cartomizer, often used on cigalikes:

Clearomizer, noted for having a clear, or slightly tinted, plastic tank to hold liquid:

Glassomizer. As above, but with a Pyrex tank rather than plastic. Good for juice which can crack plastic tanks:

RBA, or Re-buildable Atomizer. Similar to the Clear/Glassomizers, but designed for hand made coils and wicks:

RDA, or Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer, as above but without a tank. Users drip a few drops of liquid onto the wick and then vape. Repeat...

An atomizer is anything that can turn the liquid into a vapor through heat. All of these things would be, or would have, atomizers.

Yes. However, if you're still that unsure, a pic would help greatly. Especially if it's unbranded.

You have yet to tell us what yours looks like. Most of the different types, or variations of them, are in the photos above. Protank types have a bottom coil that unscrews from the base of the tank. This type also includes the Hypertank, Anyvape Davide, and Puritank. The EVOD also unscrews from the bottom, but had a larger (and female) connector than the (male) others.

Basically same bottom coil as a Protank but slightly shorter. Large female connection to the battery instead of smaller male 510 threading. Can be rebuilt the same way a Protank coil can be rebuilt. Go to Youtube and watch GrimGreen's protank coil rebuilding video. It is very easy to do

That is definitely what I have. I definitely got ripped off too, damn thing was like 15$. Is there a better option that's somewhat cheap and delivers vapor better?

I would have to say you did take a screwing and you just opened the flood gates. I'll wager you going to get a hundred different answers, atty choice is almost as subjective as juice taste.

With that being said, I use evods, protanks, smok aro, Iclear 30, rda's, genesis rba's, and cartomizer tanks. Each is a little different. The easiest fill and vape I've found so far is the Iclear series from Innokin. You'll get a lot of responses about this is better than that. To me it all comes down to if I like it I vape it, the is no wrong way.

It's hard to recommend one vendor over another, because this one will have one thing cheaper and that one will have another. I make take a ripping for this but I check out the deal blogs like ........ and gotsmoke and if i can wait on something I order a few things here and there from fasstech. I don't recommend fasttech for a new vapor because the shipping can be a little sketchy.
If I can get a good deal from the US, I'll take that any day over china.

What I meant was, usually you will get an overwhelming amount of answers from a question like that. Everyone has their own opinion on what is best. With all the new products hitting the shelves that list is growing rapidly. I'm really surprised that their have not been more responses. It may be a conspiracy to prove me wrong.

What would probably help would be for you to tell us both what you like, and don't like about the one you are using. There are so many variables, and so many products, and they all have pros and cons. What are you looking for, and we can probably help you find it. (Or at least give you 50 opinions lol)

Did you know that you can change the coils also called heads on the Evod? Any place that sells them should also sell the replacable head. They are a lot cheaper than the whole Evod.
