DHL says they do not have a UPU code / match code available at this time.

That's very odd. DHL tracking listed a match code for mine as soon as they picked the package, while it was still in Germany.

DS should contact DHL. DS is DHL's customer, not you - so if DHL has screwed up, that's DS's problem, not yours. If they refuse, I'd be contemplating a credit dispute...

I agree with you. For what it's worth my first package did have a UPU code. I will ask that DS follow up with DHL. Thanks.

My tracking hasn't moved since 7/16/13 and is still in germany. I contacted DHL, they replied to my inquiry about the status. They said to contact the sender.

In your case I'd give it a few more days. It may not actually still be in Germany.

If your status says: 'The shipment will be transported to the destination country and, from there, handed over to the delivery organization.' then it is probably on its way to your country. Even after it gets to your country, DHL's status won't change - it will still say that, or even disappear entirely.

Just below the DHL tracking number on the tracking page there should be a line 'UPU code / matchcode'. You may be able to put that code into your country's mail tracking system and get the status once it gets to your country.

In general, the "contact the sender" advice is correct, though frustrating. The sender is the actual customer of the shipping company, not the receiver. So the shipping company is only responsible to the sender, not the receiver. If the package is lost, the sender is the one to file a claim and get their shipping fees refunded and insurance value if applicable. The sender is responsible to you, so if a package is lost then they should either provide a replacement or refund your money. If they become unresponsive then you would have to dispute the credit card charges.

But like I said above, in your case I would try using the match code as well as give it a few more days.

I dont know if your situations are the same but when I view the dhl tracking from my phone there is no upu code, on a computer it does show the upu, and if you switch to "desktop view" on your phone it will show the upu number also

The German site has messed up two of my orders first by not sending my product at all and refused to reimburse me till I showed them the ricept and second by over looking my order as I still have not recieved my kayfun lite. The stuff is t cheap I have ordered and I don't appreciate having to give them a copy of my receipt to prove they have made a mistake. That kind of stuff should be on file..... Just my two cents.

The email i sent to dhl was really to ask for the matchcode because my tracking dint have a upu/matchcode only the shipment number. This is how my tracking looks like:

Shipment number 9607617912##
International Parcel (Philippines)
Status from Tue, 16.07.2013 17:28 hours
The international shipment has been processed in the export parcel center
Next step The international shipment is being prepared for forwarding to the destination country

I think your right in suggesting patience. Its the frustration that they cant give you a definitive answer or clue on what im inquiring about(dhl,ds). And i had to pay 35 euros for something i cant track properly. I guess just have to wait and pray just a wee bit more.

Update: Contacted DS via their website, FB page, and FB message stating my displeasure. But before doing so I made an attempt to contact DHL to see if they could locate the package. Unfortunately, they could not and referred me back to DS to open a trouble ticket. Long story short DS requested that I submit a paypal dispute to they can refund my order.

I'll keep everyone posted.

lol that would be kinda cool. Hate to say that I'm a reasonable guy and if that is the case, that I received the package and was refunded, I would contact DS and send them their money. Some may not agree but I believe in karma.
