The metric system of measurements for this type of mixing (solid into liquid) would use the weights of the ingredients and not a measuring spoon if we really wanted to do it right. You would weigh the liquid and the solid and use amounts to achieve a 80/20 mix weight.

But this is DIY! Its like hand grenades and horseshoes.....Close enough!

1/2 teaspoon would be about, or at least close enough for DIY, to equal 20%.

Your 1ml into 10ml mix is probably about a 10% solution so you may need to use 4 drops per 5ml instead of the 2 drops per 5ml if you had a 20% solution.

1/2 teaspoon into 10ml of PG should yield an approximately 20% solution. You would then use about 2 drops per 5ml of juice.

Good luck!

Pete

I've been diluting in distilled water but I just tried PG and I couldn't get the citric acid completely dissolved. Heated it and left it over night. I dumped it and went back to the distilled water. What the trick?
