Looking for feedback from all you great folks.

I live in a fairly isolated community, so most of my shopping is done online. The thought of ordering 10ml of a flavour, liking it, and having to wait a week or two for more of that juice to arrive is pure horror. So I usually order 30ml+ ... I am not a huge flavour junky, and have no problem making a swamp juice of my flavours by consolidating 1-5ml of each into a 30ml bottle (*1st point of feedback request ~ is there any issues I should be aware of with doing this, all juice being mixed is 6-12mg). Flavour of the juice is not as big of a factor for me as I have come to realize, that in the absence of juices I like, I will vape anything for the nic and the vape quality. (dripping and subohming is what got me off of analogues after 4 years of messing around with cig-a-likes & egos without great success. Usually .35-.81 ohms on my drippers, though also happy with 1.4 ohms on my kayfun when driving)

My hope is to stop vaping sometime down the road. Right now I am really happy with just not smoking, as I have struggled mightily with getting to this point. What I am hoping to do is find a more economic solution to my juice needs until I get there.

I am thinking about ordering 1L of 50:50 (PG:VG) no nic juice, and mixing it with 24mg of flavoured juice. My first thought was just to order the base and some nic base and bypass flaour all together, but I'm not sure if I want to go there yet (and this way I can try out the straight pg/vg to see how it is without added flavour).

For example: Mixing 5ml of 24mg nic flavoured juice mixed with 15ml of 50:50 (PG:VG) no nic/flav juice. I should have 20ml of 6mg slightly flavoured juice. (*2nd point of feedback request ~ any tips, tricks, thoughts, comments, or concerns about this)

Thank you in advance :)

(I tried to look for a thread, but got lost on a whole bunch of tangents, so here I am)

I have a bottle with about 120ml of mixed random juice from dumping out tanks, clearing syringes and such. I don't have clue what's all in there but it really doesn't taste too bad to me. I don't see any issues with what you are doing on that aspect. Adding 75% base to an ejuice can't harm the stuff and if the weak flavor and lower nic is what you're looking for, I don't see an issue there either.

Sweet, thanks ...

The spot in Canada I found to order pg/vg from also sells nic and a few different flavour brands — is it really as easy as this? (from Do It Yourself E-Liquid (E-Juice) Recipe Mixing Station!):

You will need to mix (Put in Bottle and Shake Well).
1ml of your flavor (Assuming your flavor is 50%PG 50%VG, Most are 100%PG)
2ml of PG and 2ml of VG (Or 4ml of 50%PG 50%VG mixed Liquid)
5ml of 36mg 50%PG 50%VG Unflavored Nicotine Liquid.

I can do that!!

It really is not very complicated to do simple flavors but still requires a bit of experimentation to get it where you like it. There is plenty of good information on this forum to get you started with DIY juice. I recommend one of the online juice calculators to cut down on the math required and simplify altering the mix ratios. The ejuice calculator I use is a windows program called 'ejuice me up' which I find does everything I need from it and it's free.

Sorry about those tangents. It's probably a Sine that I was there...

Glad you included that flavor was down on your list of concerns because there would have been a bunch of posts about how it would dilute the flavor, but as you presented it, your concept is very sound as Singaw noted so well.

Yes, I mostly posted to make that horrible joke... I'll duck now.

Be warned however that this is leading down a slippery slope into full-blown DIY obsession. ;)

I think I'm sliding o_O

I went ahead and ordered 1L 50:50 base, 120ml 48mg 50:50 nic, 120ml VG base, and 5 TPA flavours. I also ordered some syringes (to use as measuring tools), and some 30ml drip bottles.

Now I wait for two weeks @.@

I started down the path to DIY by constantly mixing pre mix juices together looking for a flavor that worked for me. When I finally got some non flavor nic base to play with, I vaped it flavorless to see what I could taste. Surprise! I kind of liked it :) Then I began cutting some of the juice that had been sitting around, and found that I actually preferred less flavor than what a lot of the pre-mixes had in them. This was my ahah! moment. I usually drip with cotton wicks when home 1.4-1.7 Ω coils, and my Protanks are cotton wicked for out and about. For me personally, most juice was over-flavored. Now that I am full blow into DIY, I tend to shoot my flavor at the lower end of the recommended percentages and this has made all the difference to me in terms of enjoyment. Less can be more, it seems. At least to this contented vaper :vapor:

I do agree less can be more I cut a lot of my gf juices that just are tooooo strong and now I can even Vape them. Me I make all my own now but still keep flavor on the lower side not to kill myself with over powering juices. If it not enough I can simply add a touch more to make stronger. But ya DIY has many variations depends on each person an how much they are willing to do an spend. But I have enough base and flaves to last me a yr or two now ;) no worries here running out anytime soon bahaha

when i first started vaping i did just that , mixed my store bought juices together when i wanted something different , i could not see the point of throwing anything out but there are exceptions if you know what i mean , and if you DIY on a budget pay close attention to what the price per ml is on flavs and or nic , small tester bottles can run upwards of 87 cents per ml where the next size can be 25 cents per ml and for flavors you love you may can get them as low as 11 cents per ml

Update: Juice supplies arrived yesterday!!!

I've got a crazy amount of work to accomplish this weekend, so I can't really get started — Mixed 30ml of juice to keep me going. 5% Blueberry Extra TPA, 6mg nic, 30:70 PG:VG ~ nice light flavour, exactly what I was looking for. Can't wait to make a few 5 or 10 ml testers up of some other flavours.

Thanks for the support and push — much better than diluting flavours, or at least on my wallet, ha!

Any advice on storing base, nic, and flavour? Short and longer term? I'll be heading to Peru for 6 weeks right away !!!

Now back to writing report cards o_O
