I had my husband to look at this and he agrees it is a squirrel. He has ate many of these in his younger days. On Christmas Vacation Cousin Eddie says he eats squirrel but they are high in cholesterol.

BY the way, Addy, I was looking for the Yosemite Sam clip with Sam shouting "I WANT HASSENPFEFFER!" last night, but couldn't find it. I didn't even THINK of Elmer Fudd. I must be too tired.

Monkey would be new for me. I heard once about a restaurant in the jungle near Trat, Thailand (southwestern thailand, on the Malay Peninsula) that served monkey and other jungle animals illegally, and thought about going there to try it, but they were having a muslim uprising in that province, and had been targeting foreigners, so I decided it was too much risk.

I remember the one with the King demanding hassenpfeffer, I believe Elmer Fudd was the cook! Ahh the good times! BB sucked when they took away the violence!!
I think I saw one of those in one of the "Ripley's Believe it or Not" Museums for sure!
BTW, for lunch today I hit McDonalds. 
Last night while working on finalizing my slogan contest picks I was watching a Tivo'd episode of How I Met Your Mother, and Marshall was griping about the McRib being gone, well, they still have the McRib here, so Marshall, Eat Your Heart Out!!!!

I have never had rat (that I know of anyway), but I always meant to try some in Thailand or Cambodia. It was available at the open air markets, but I didn't have any way to get it cooked, or I would have. They trap them in the farm country, so the rats weren't eating garbage or anything like that.
When I was a little kid we lived in a log cabin in the woods of Alaska. So, I used to eat squirrell, bear, or moose now and then. Dad was a photographer, so he used to go along on hunting trips taking pics, and he'd get some of the meat to bring back with him.
