Direct Dripping Vs. tanks?? Input needed

I am relatively new to vaping, and i have only used tanks..( CE4, nova, Vcore, Vision 2.0). I really like to chain vape because it gives me the sensation of actually smoking analogs, but i am struggling with dry hits. I am thinking that while i am at home I was thinking that dripping might be a better option for me. could someone please weigh in on this and tell me if this might be a better option for me? and could you also give me some pointers on dripping, such as the equipment that i might need? any help or advice would be appreciated

Direct dripping gives much better flavor. You will get a dry hit more often dripping because you have to add a couple drops every 5 or so hits. Tilting helps with chain vaping on the clearomizers. Having a dripping atomizer is always a nice thing to have on hand though. Cisco or ikenvape are supposed to be the best non rba.

I bought a Phoenix RBA to play with and for testing flavours for DIY. It's more fiddly because you have to keep dripping, and you don't always get the amount right. The Phoenix is nice because you can drip about 12 drops then vape away for a while. It has a little cup and a wick. The flavour is definitely better and I like the rebuildable aspect.

If you want to chain vape then a drip atomiser like this is a good thing to have, and you soon get the hang of it. You just can't beat a tank for convenience though.

IMO, dripping is the best for flavor but it's not convenient. You will get a dry hit every once in a while also because sometimes it's hard to gauge how many puffs you are going to get out of a particular juice especially when it's new. You don't want to flood the atty so you have to be careful not to add too many drops either. I wouldn't be surprised if one of these days we see a computerized atty offering where it constantly monitors the coil & wick and drips automatically as required.

I think you better go for cheaper one like IGO-L and see if you like it, hits very good, then probably eBaron dripper (flavor so gooooood).
Next step genesis style atty like AGA-T+ with SS Mesh, perfect for chain vaping, get pyrex glass tank for it, if you feel good with it go for Cobra. This is exactly what i did )))
And one more advice, maybe I am not right, but I think that almost anybody will end up with high end devices, so do not waste your hard earned money and buy perfect hybrid mod and enjoy it )))

VAMO 2 and AGA-T+, eVic and eBaron spiral, K100 and Cobra, eGo-T upgrade 18350 and IGO-L, Twist and A7 Pegasus

I like to use both. Dripping for trying out new flavors and sitting around the house. Carto tanks for on the go and at work or when I don't want the hassle. Using a LR atty to drip and a U-DCT for the the tank. Haven't tried one but I have heard the HH 357 is a great atty. Just a lil pricey. Starting to use a RBA around the house and am really starting to like it.

Actually, the best device I use for chain vaping is a carto tank. Some people have trouble with them, but then there is nothing in vaping that works for everyone all the time. I use Boge cartos and punch the holes myself. I figured out that if I make 2 holes with my carto punch using 2 1/2 turns each, it will never be too much area. I sometimes have to make a hole bigger, but that's OK, no loss. Cartos are about a buck a piece, so if I go through a couple a week it's not expensive. Works great for me, but YMMV.

For the types of products you've used (clearomizers), direct dripping will give you much, much more flavor. Everyone has different tastes, but in my experience, this is how I'd tank the juice delivery systems I've used in terms of flavor:

1) Dripping
2) Carto/tanks
3) Clearomizers

As Ryedan mentioned, carto/tanks are a good solution for chain vapors. You get the capacity of clearomizers (or even bigger), with more consistent performance.

thanks for all the advice guys, can someone tell me how i will know if i have flooded the atty, because i think that i have experienced this with my tanks a few times

A tank with a center post will gurgle when it's flooded, and the vapour production will be reduced because the coil cannot get hot enough.

Depending on the design of the atomiser, it may not gurgle as much, but the vapour production drops off for the same reason. I find tilting the atty will clear it enough to start working, however tilting so that the fluid washes over the air hole will result in gurgling.

Dripping: Least mechanical problems (zero wicking issues), best flavor, for me...NO dry hits (once you get good at it). More "work/motion".
Tanks: No need to drip. Sole reason for using them or anything that "holds juice"...cartos too. All have issues feeding juice to the coil sometimes.

Also, atomizers last longer than cartos. So if it's a carto tank...that makes a difference. DIY coil tanks vary...hard to compare in general without specifics.

I dripped for two years strait. Still thinking of going back to it for most things other than driving...then tanks or cartos are better. The main reason I have a tank is to be able to build coils from supplies just in case something happens to the marketplace. Been trying to "get good" at tanks...I do OK, but I don't have the $$$ to buy the latest-tank-of-the-week all the time and frankly, dripping is the best.

You'll hear comments like "I only drip to taste flavors" or "It's too much work!". Bah. It takes some practice but you'll get the hang of it quickly. Use a standard atomizer (with bridge and "innards"...don't shell out extra $$$ at first for some special 'dripping atty') and get a drip tip or just remove the plastic cart, drip, and put it back on. Removing the fluff from the cart and trimming a mm or two off the end is recommended if you're not using a drip tip. Drip 3 drops in it, vape about 10 hits until the vapor flavor gets reduced, drip 3 more drops, etc.

Remember to blow out the primer from a new atty and prime it with about 4 drops of juice the 1st time it's used.

It's not any more work than "ashing" was when you smoked. It's kind of a pain that you have to carry around a separate bottle. I used to use small bottles...like 3 or 5 ml...and it isn't much different than having to carry a lighter, if you think about it.

P.S. Don't forget to blow the atty out twice per day to clear gunk and clean it once in a while. I used to have atomizers last at least a month or two. Many got much more out of them.

Dripping is awesome. Best flavor, best vapor production (usually). I have a few vivis, half a dozen clearos, two genesis style RBAs, and my preferred choice is *always* a dripper... from a $4 Phoenix clone (I have five of them), to a Smok RDA "Octopus", Boge LR "bridgeless" dripping atomizer, IGO-L, and a Pegasus A7... from the cheapest to the most expensive I will *always* pick a dripper over a tank system, if convenience (i.e. while driving) isn't a factor. Even my little clones still hold 10 drops. Even if I'm driving that's still enough vapor for 12-24 good puffs. Long trips I still take a tank.

If you end up liking dripping and the taste the best, look into a bottom feeder mod. It is dripping, but instead of dripping into the top, there is a bottle you squeeze that shoots juice into the connector and then into the atomizer. You can chain vape on these, all day long. :)
REO, VMOD, Bogger Box, Phideus, etc.
