so i got my 5v boxmod to use in situations where carrying my jet engine (roughstack at 7.4v with 2.8 carto's) would cause other to look at me while stealth vaping...and i noticed the led on the box mod is quite bright...but i didn't realize how bright until i went to go see red riding hood last night and attempted to stealth vape mid-movie(i was in the 3rd row from the front)... on my first drag i took a look at the screen and see Amanda Seyfried's face covered by alternating red green and blue light...others in the movie were not happy about this...so my question is how do i disable the led on the 5v boxmod? either permanently or temporarily. just covering it with my hand is not an option because i got the clear red one and its still quite visible through the plastic

Can you post a picture of the inside? Who built it for you?

The ones that I built, the negative lead was soldered right to the outer part of the atomizer connection. You should be able to clip the wire there, and then clip the positive lead that goes to the PCB (circuit board)

I guess you could install a switch in line if there is room in your box.

I have a spare brand new one without LED (5v) if you are interested in it.

I wasn't too happy about the led either. It should be quite easy to make it nonfunctional. I wish Madvapes offered their kits and completed boxmods without the led. It would take fewer parts and less time to build, and should therefore be less expensive too.

In the short term, when you want to sealth vape try putting a piece or two of black electricians tape over the led.

I am thinking you dont want to do this, as it could cause a short. I may be wrong, but clipping the two leads should be easy. If this is not your only PV, if you ship it to me, I would be happy to fix it for you. I personally would leave the LED in there, and just disconnect the Led leads.

There are two leads going to the atty connector. Madvapes typically solders the positive lead right to the center of the atty connector, and the negative lead goes right to the outer ring of the atty connector from the negative lead of the LED. The positive lead of the LED should be attached to pin number 4 of the voltage regular (the regulator is hidden under neath the circuit board) The way to find the lead is to look for the resistor that is in-line (not the resistor on the board itself)

So, follow that lead that has the resistor in line, and clip it right at the board.

what if you just crush the led with pliers?
