I have been messing around with my aga t2 to try and up my vape quality from the protank. My third coil is pictured below. This is a 12/13 wrap of 28awg kanthal on a 5/64" bit. I compressed and torched the coil before installation. The wick is cotton ball, and is in a U shape, with both ends going down I to the tank. Dry firing before installing the wick showed a nice even glow growing from the middle, with no hot legs. Resistance reads 1.9 ohms.
The vape is just disappointing. I started at 8 watts, which is where I vape my pro tanks, which read 2.7 ohms consistently on this device. Flavor is definitely there with this new coil, but both th and vapor production are quite lacking as compared to the experience I get for. The pro tank. I tried cranking the wattage up, and retried at every 1.5 watts, all the way up to 15 watts. Vapor and th do get better, but still do not match the protank.
Also, at higher than 11 watts or so, the coil keeps 'poofing' there's kind of a low boil sound that I assume is partially due to the PWM of the device, but now and again, there is a louder 'poof' and what feels like a miniature balloon popping In the atty chamber. What the heck is that about?
my previous. Coil was almost identical in build, but a lot messier, and performed almost identically. I kept trying to like it, hoping that maybe it needed a break in. I vamped it on and off for a coule of days, putting like three tanks worth of juice through it. The cotton had browned ever so slightly under the coil, and never did I get a burned taste. I assumed the slight browning was from cooking juice, as there was no black nor burned taste. This leads me to believe that the wick is certainly keeping up.
thus, I am wondering just where I went wrong with this build for it to have such a disappointing overall performance?
