So I've been using my VP for about 3 days now, and while it's been a good experience so far, I'm concerned with the stinging sensation I get in my lungs from using it. It's not during the vaping itself, but usually it comes on shortly after using it.
I wasn't smoking much to begin with, not a daily habit and max 5-7 cigarettes without experiencing the discomfort I am when vaping.

Also, I might add that the juice I'm using is 12mg Dekang - Marlboro flavor (PG based), using a ego-t battery with a kanger protank.
The juice itself hits kind of hard, and definitely has a strong throat hit.

I don't however get out of breath as much as I used to with regular cigarettes, but the stinging sensation I get from it is kind of off putting and makes me wonder whether I should be vaping at all or just quit cold turkey.

I did order some other juices, so I'll try those out tommorow and see if it's any better.

Try 100% VG. When I use 70/30 PG blend it makes my Mom cough and my husband sneeze..when I use 50/50 it doesn't seem to bother them..now to me it doesn't seem like a heck of a lot of difference but that is the only thing questionable. Now mind you they are only second hand vapor's.

Okay, I will not bust on Dekang, simply because I enjoy several of their juices. However most are almost all PG.
I can tell you 12mg nic in all pg seems much more harsh than 12mg in a 70/30 or 50/50 pg/vg mix.
Also inhaling direct to lungs can cause irritation. You can try mouth inhale then into lungs. This will allow a cooler throat hit.

I agree, lower and, if need be eliminate the PG, that is probably the cause.

Even at 3 years vaping some flavors of Dekang at 24 mg or higher set me to coughing.

As for that Dekang juice, since you were not a regular smoker, you would probably be fine at 6mg nic, and if 50% VG is good for you, then get some plain VG and mix that stuff 50/50. It will be a milder flavor that way, but perhaps useable at least.

ALL GOOD ADVICE HERE. You're doing great. I had a serious cough for the first 1.5 weeks and the input from users here helped me. I had a friend tonight tell me that I needed a "live" support group. ECF has been great. You CAN do it. Don't pick up another cigarette. Read the whole articles above (the symptoms one is long so I read the "regular" stuff). Keep it up and vape hard. You wallet and loved ones will appreciate it. 15 days strong and NOT going back!

Thing is, most of those issues (other than the dry throat) are linked to quitting smoking, I don't suffer from those symptoms as I don't smoke a lot and can go for a week without smoking without having any withdrawal symptoms.

The juices I've ordered are 75PG/25VG and one of them is 75VG-25PG unless it's a mistake on the website (Dekang RY4,).

I've been thinking of getting a lower level of nicotine, my first assumptions were to get a somewhat higher level so I wouldn't be vaping too often to get my fix, but as far as I can tell my assumptions were wrong and 12mg is plenty strong already (I do tend to vape more often than I used to smoke because it tastes quite good, which is a problem for me in itself).

Are you getting juice in your mouth at all?You might need more or less voltage..I broke down and bought a Evic for that same reason.

I'm not sure how to interpret that. Do you mean the actual liquid dripping in my mouth, or just the vapor? I did get some juice in my mouth a couple of times when I was sucking on the head too long if that's what you mean.

Whoa, I never knew people directly inhaled cigarette smoke like that, but I always inhale the vapor inside my mouth first and then either inhale it through my nose or mouth into my lungs.

You may also want to try dropping down a level in nic. You could also be getting dry hits, that can sting all the way down if its dry enough.

What exactly is a dry hit? My atomizer is filled.

So far I really like it, although the stinging lung sensation kind of has me worried as I only experienced that when smoking lots of weed and cigarettes, this being the healthier alternative I didn't expect it to cause discomfort in such a way, the soar/dry throat is to be expected when vaping like a train.

Check out Johnson's Creek. They have 100% VG juices.

Not available in the stores here, all the brands seem to be local, the only brands I've found that are listed here are Dekang and Liqua (which I ordered a couple of 75-25 juices from)

You're going to be fine RiZZZZa. If you need to switch juices or method or device DO SO. I won't harp on you if you need to do what you gotta do in the meantime, but there is definitely a vaping solution that you can LIVE with. I don't know your device or juice, but strongly encourage you to keep reading here to find what works for you (feel free to check out what I'm using - REOSMODS vaporizer and Aliens Juices). Once you turn the corner, this gets a LOT easier. I'll keep checking on you and don't drop out OK?

The device I use is a Kanger Protank paired with a joytech ego-t battery.

BTW, is the juice handling your nic cravings? That was the hardest part for me. The mechanics and details were all worked out by my requests for help here.

If anything, the juice I have is too strong as I felt myself OD'ing on nicotine quite a couple of times (feeling a bit light-headed and weak), so the next batch of juices I'll be ordering will be low in nicotine, and I'll even order some nicotine free ones.

I mostly get the cravings when I'm out drinking or when I'm with friends that also smoke, for the last two months or so I didn't even smoke by myself and would usually go about 1-2 days without smoking anything at all.
I found myself to be vaping more than smoking because :

-It tastes better
-Leaves no smell
-Don't have to worry about ash
-Ease of use

And because it's kind of like a new toy/gadget.

I'll try and limit myself tomorrow to 3 vaping 3 times throughout the day, or just use it strictly as a cigarette replacement and only use it when I'm drinking.

I didnt see someone answer yet so I will. A dry hit can happen with a full tank. Usually its when the wick can not pick up the juice fast enough. Usually during chain vaping. Some materials wick better than others. So you can have a full tank and puff too many times in a short period, and end up with a dry hit. Other than the feeling its usually ok after swishing the liquid in the tank and/or tipping the tank to allow for a faster wick. But some materials like the cotton I use will burn with a big dry hit. Doing so causes my juices to taste like crap. But since I use a rebuildable I just swap out the wick after that. Good luck.

sent from my Provari with a mini rda!

My post with the link to the thread on inhalation technique was more to point out that you don't HAVE to inhale, though most do anyways(including me). I should have explained before. Vaping is different than smoking, and it may take you awhile to get used to it. To cut down on the lung stinging try just pulling the vapor into your mouth and then exhaling through your nose, bypassing your lungs altogether. You'll still get the flavor and nic you're looking for :)
