I have recently bought a 510 and Tornado kit form TW and enjoying them greatly. I use the 510 for work and the Tornado for home and on the go. I really love them both, and the fact I can look at my half pack of Camels on the desk without even a desire to light one.

So today I go out to hit the mall to do some clothes shopping, On my way there I saw a car show and a friend of mines car there. I stop to say hi and chit-chat abit when his son (who is a smoker) comes up and tells me what I am smoking is full of antifreeze and its gonna kill me. He won't hear anything I say about that not being quite accurate. He was convinced the main ingredient in e-juice was antifreeze cause the tv said so. I told him he was wrong and even if it was true It would probably be better for me than a "real" cig anyways.

I proceed on my way in a somewhat bitter mood. Well to make a long story short the mall had a kiosk that sold some offbrand e-cig so I had a few puffs here and there feeling ok about it seeing as they sold them there. Before I leave I have three different folks telling me that they are just as bad for me or worse. And one woman that looked at me like I was the antichrist. I feared at one point she would spit on me.

I had left today hoping I could maybe help someone else who was chained to analog addiction. And maybe get a new shirt . But all I ran into was discrimination and ignorance. I learned my lesson and won't be puffing in public anymore.

It hurts me to think that the media has hurt the e-cigs rep so bad that smokers won't look any further into it and non-smokers still think you are the next son of satan.

The FDA is trying to shut ecigs down with misinformation and scare tactics. Too bad 80% of the population is unable to think for themselves. You should ask these people if they believe everything the hear on the television! Funny how sucking down 4000+ chemicals that are proven with out a doubt to kill you is socially acceptable, but trying do something better draws so much negative attention. I say, don't be afraid to vape in public! YOU are the intelligent one, not the close-minded SHEEPLE putting you down!

That story sucks but at least at the end of the day you are healthier smoking it and you know the truth, as we have been told it .. Don't give up your quest to set people free.

Out of all the people I have shown it 3 have made the switch just off what I have said alone. It goes both ways. A person is intelligent, people are stupid ... Dont go for big numbers.

There is GP in antifreeze, its also in nebulizers and food coloring. Studies were done in the 40's on it and human consumption. Test were negative with 0 effects on the test subjects. Back then scientists actually were trying to find a way to distribute the influenza vaccine in public buildings and were going to use GP as a medium to distribute it. It's just big tobacco and everyone in their back pocket trying to scare ppl. They have been smoking e-cigs in Asia for 6+ yrs with 0 deaths on record due to e-cigs. There may be long term effects on e-cigs but worse for you then a reg smoke ??? not a chance

I wondered the same thing, I was taken aback when people were telling me they were worse for me than smoking. I was all like "since when??"

Hahaha I got this for awhile till I just started mentioning tobacco is FDA approved. So maybe by not being FDA approved it might be good for you.

Alcohol is FDA approved. Hell ALL prescription drugs are FDA approved.

Than I start shooting number of deaths caused by all of these and tell them I'll take my chances with the e-cigs.

Ask people to guess how many children die due to Tylenol a year.

When people start telling me how unhealthy e-cigs are I just tell them how corrupt and money driven the FDA is. I find that gives them an instant of doubt and might try to be open.

Either that or they get confused with all the numbers.

You need to keep educating and familiarizing people with e-cigs. The more familiar a thing is, the safer people feel (even if its not true).

EDIT:: Also newer antifreeze is "safe" for consumption. I remember the good old days of deadly antifreeze (cats and dogs who licked the antifreeze in winter would die) and I haven't heard/seen any new cases of this. I remember there was a hubub about deadly antifreeze getting out our water systems due to rain runoff which forced a few manufacturers to change their chemicals.

I haven't had anyone say stuff like that yet, but I'd just say something ridiculous back at them.

"Well people keep telling me the world isn't flat, but I don't believe them because someone told me it was."

They could say something like "Everyone knows the world is round, that was an old myth."

So then I would respond "I don't believe in finding out the facts about stuff, I just listen to what everyone tells me."

I guess speculation and lies are all true if the person saying it belongs to a Government agency. Did it ever occur to these people that just like everyone else, their motives aren't always good. It's called Propaganda and the entire point of it is to get people to believe lies in such a strong way that they become the truth.

When a smoker tells me my e cig is full of these killer chemicals, I simply say.." Ya wanna race a mile?"
fact is, world is full of sheep, most of which that are simply too cheap to put up the loot to get an e cig, because they think they are all 150 bucks, so they "player hate". I know whats in my e cigs, cause I can make my own fluid, I'm just too lazy. But when someone tries to feed YOU a line, you can somehow believe it, and doubt yourself, or be steadfast, and clearly let them know that THEY are ill informed, not you.
Might take a couple of occurrences for you to get your stance, and be ready. So just be prepared next time, and you can react appropriately, and quickly, and RE inform them of their ignorance. Be a leader, not the follower. Obviously, the followers will follow quickly.

I am sorry that you had such a bad experience. There are, however, people (especially smokers) that do want the info. I am sure that in the future you will run across some of those people and possibly help them change their lives.

I have a Saber Touch Mod that I use anywhere and everywhere I go. You should see some of the looks I get puffing away on it! HAHA I just brush it off! I think it is hilarious! People just do not understand at all. If they ask about it, (which most seldom do) I explain exactly what it is and how it works. Most do not look like they are going to go right out and get one, but at least they know it is not as harmful as analogs. I usually point them to this website to learn more, but I doubt many come and learn, ignorance is bliss I guess.

My Mom is driving me nuts with her mis information. She bought her kit the same time as I did last yr. Then , it started. she has a store in the mall near us, the white cloud kiosk is there. People come in her store complaining how nasty and dirty it is that the mall allows the people to sell ecigs there. This makes my very follow the heard Mom think twice about ecigs. She asked me in a comment tone, "Do you think these are safe?" DUh MoM, "I don't know , no one knows but they must be safer than smoke and until someone tells me otherwise I will use them" So she starts vaping again after I say that. Then the anti freeze report comes out. OH Geez all I needed for her to hear. I explain about the report and the hog wash alpha soup is selling. So again, she starts vaping all along smoking stinky sticks with them because she is afraid they arent safe. So instead of doing one unsafe thing or the other she does both. Where is her logic? Finally she decides she will really try to use them a few months ago because I have not smoked in a while. Now that all her supplies are depleted. I gave her all of my V4L batteries that I could spare , I gave her juice and I gave her empty cartos and even fill some for her when they run out. I know she isn't using them again, because she is afraid of what she has heard. She went to Las Vegas last week for a trade show and saw an ecig vendor there. She asked if they sold juice and they told her no we don't because it is poison! WTH!!! A Vendor told her this? OH MY God. Ok so she comes home and tells me that the vendor told her that is poison and can kill a toddler , while looking at my 4 yr old DUH! I know it is poison and that is why I don't allow my 4 yr old near my juice. So she gives me this little paper the guy gave her that says "Nicotine oil is a toxic poison never use with gold vapor oilcan kill an infant absorbable through skin use of oil voids warranty" Sounds to me like these guys just don't want people using other juice because they want youto buy thiers. However this is not how my dear old Mom took it. I am sure this is how many other sweet old ladies would take it as well. Geez Mom get a grip. Now she will only vape if I am around because I threaten to smoke a cig if I smell hers.

The average citizen is truly stupid, all they know is what the idiot box tells them. They can tell you who won Dancing with the Stars but not who the vice president is so is it any wonder they don't know squat about e-cigs?

That's pretty funny, you should have told the son that his cigarettes are full of all kinds of .... and they are going to kill him in response. The people telling you that they are just as bad for you or worse are uneducated ignorant people who make up what they THINK is correct. They do no research, they do not educate themselves, they simply believe whatever the first news story tells them. I have been completely analog free for the last 5 days. And if E-Cigs are just as bad as analogs, someone please tell me why I can breath easier. Why is it that I can smell things better, taste things better?

Now there's a product out there that is virtually odorless, there is no smoke involved, thus no 2nd hand smoke. It's 1000x better than the traditional cigarette and they still ......
