As someone else still in new member status, I can say that as annoying as it might seem, the quality of the information and posts on here seem to make it worth it. Easy to find good information on pretty much any topic you want without wading through piles of garbage posts. If this weeds out the spammers then I'm all for it. I'll get to work my way in to other areas soon enough, and when I get there, no spam.

Fair warning when I was new mine didn't exactly reset after the hour. I had to log out of the forum and log back in before it registered.

so 5 posts
wait 1 hour
log out and log back in

We say an hour, but in actual fact the server refresh happens 25 minutes past the hour. So, the next refresh will be at 12:25a.m EST, and then at 1:25a.m EST and so on and so forth. So, if you are one of those lucky ones who make their 5th post just before the forum refreshes, there's no real waiting period at all. ;)

Why your account would not have refreshed itself, I'm not sure. Were you on a mobile device, or a computer when it happened?

etc etc

how someone cant get 5 posts in less then a 1/2 hour i dont understand. i lurked forever untill i saw something i wanted to reply to, came in said hello, asked a couple questions, made a few comments and done.

Around ECF you dont have to only be the one with the answer to be part of the community as a whole, chat, be friendly, what gets you is when you finally hit the point where you CANT post here anymore, then your like, wow im forced to move up lol

ahh hell youll get used to jumping through the hoops. problably wont take long to get spanked by a moderator and then youll be just like the rest of us. you can have an opinion but dont voice it, might piss of an old army fart

99.9% of people don't have an issue, never get 'spanked'. But if you feel the rules are too restricting, there are tons of forums out there. Find one you like.

Vapers Forum is much more techie than ECF.
There's a dedicated onsite chatroom.
Suppliers do free samples and giveaways, not just contests and such.
But it's like the wild west on there. Anything goes. Profanity, Drug talk etc. I like getting free juice from cutting edge suppliers. But if I want to actually learn something. I stick to ECF. I think that's another reason for the 6 post rule. It forces new members to actually read quality threads, written by vapers who have been there. It's also a great opportunity, to check out reviews & the suppliers forum.

This will make post #17, but I'm still hanging around in here. Being new, the questions and discussions that come up are interesting and informative to me, so I still check in here first anyways. This subforum forces participation and helps break the ice, so it's nice and active. I see responses from seasoned members constantly, so it's not like the only people in here are new, which is great. It's a good hang out!
