The new member section is a great resource, and folks can create new threads in here until they get 75 posts. From then onward, you can respond to threads but can't create any new ones.

You will find some seniors take a tough stance on newbies at times (full moon, high humidity, etc.. :)), but they generally mean well.

We all started here, so it's nice to come back and help others getting on board as you transition into Seniors on ECF.

I was actually greatful that the mods care enough about this forum, and the ecig community, to actually enforce a "5 posts before being able to post in other forums" type rule.

If you don't think it is necessary, just go to google and search "best ecig" or "electronic cigs" or whatever. I guarantee you, the MAJORITY of pages that show up are going to be ALL spam....ALL nonsense , from paid shills (advertisers who pretend to NOT be advertising).

It certainly does prevent a lot of spam on this forum.

Not only does THAT help......but it also is awesome how much these forums are moderated.

Personally, I do feel they over-moderate here (lots of stuff gets deleted that I don't agree with at all), but nontheless, I AM glad that they DO moderate and get rid of paid shills, stuff like that.

I probably have about 1000 posts.
But the new members forum, is always the best source of info.
I've lost track of how many great deals I've found here.
ECF system is tried and true. New Members just need to wait.
It's really not a big deal.

Pshhhh, try 531! Your post count is right below your name.

The highest I have on any forum is about 8,000 posts , the highest I've SEEN on any forum is about 28,000 posts. Crazy, eh?

I hardly have any here :D

Pssst, I know someone on this forum that has over 80k! I can't even imagine having that kind of post count and I've been here for years. Heck I've been here long enough that I remember when newbies had to have 15 posts in the New Members section before they could move out. I guess that makes me old enough to yell at all you kids to get off my lawn?

Hi all...Just wanted to say I REALLY dislike the Newbie restrictions. There are good threads in other forums and I have to post here, do this, do that...wait for approval.

coffee talk

/end rant

Stick around a while, you'll see the why of it. ECF is so big, it gets pelted with spammers. The "five post" thing at least corrals them in one section so the mods can catch up to 'em. :)

Could be worse. I understand it used to be 15 posts...

ahh hell youll get used to jumping through the hoops. problably wont take long to get spanked by a moderator and then youll be just like the rest of us. you can have an opinion but dont voice it, might piss of an old army fart

Actually you probably shouldn't go there, and for the record the mods really could care less about infracting you, they don't lose any sleep or stay up late at night conspiring against you. The rules are pretty straight forward and thousands of people on ECF have never even received a PM from a staff member, let alone a warning or infraction...

I agree daleron. It's really not that hard to get posts, just have to post. See I did it.
