disposing of batteries?

i have a sony vtc5 thats i need to dispose of. does anyone know where i can do this safely? does best buy dispose of electronics?

Yes, Best buy and Radio Shack dispose of batteries.

I hear that Home Depot does also. I have a bunch I need to get rid of, and really need to check them out.

Lowe's does as well. I generally put some electrical tape on both the positive and negative.

er...our City does, most larger cities do have a recycle facility that you can turn them in to, and Battery's Plus is the closest to me so an easy drop off on the way out of the 'burb.

i just wrap mine in flash paper, soak it in gasoline, light it on fire, then toss it out my car window when i pass the methane treatment plant.

so far so good....the environment can take it!
