Heat! That's what I keep reading about, and promptly forgetting when I get my gear out.

14 gauge needle, huh? I feel another visit to my lovely neighbourhood pharmacy is warranted... (They are really lovely and helpful, and I'm always asking them the weirdest questions.)
Looking at gauge to mm charts I get really confused: The two smaller needles I have are labeled '18Gx1½" 1.2x40mm' and '22Gx1½ 0.7x40mm', but the chart here says 18G would be 1.270/0.838 and 22G 0.7176/0.413 - Interesting labeling and tolerance, making 1.2 out of 1.270...
14G is probably about what my "ham needle", which is only labeled 2mm (should be 2.108 acc. to charts), is - I do need another one of those, as I'm not sure I've ever managed to get the butter and garlic out of the one I have. Best to keep separate the ones for cooking and the ones for liquidmaking...

Thanks!

Update: Heating the VG really makes it much easier to work with. I just put it in a small bowl on the kitchen counter and poured boiling water from the kettle around the glass bottle, let it sit there while I drank my coffee (yes, I drink instant coffee now and again , my only defense is that I am lazy, and that I have very particular taste, I love the ease with which I can mix different instants right in the cup as my fancy takes me) .
It was just right when I had finished my coffee and calculated what my new PG/VG ratio would be if I topped up my bottle of 70/30 with an 85/15 mix.

I also tried my old 2mm/14gauge "ham needle" (I really hope I have finally gotten all garlic out of it - after soaking it in vodka for a week and rinsing with hot water, PGA and finally some more vodka, it didn't smell at all anymore. If not I guess I will just have to enjoy my inadvertently garlic flavoured vaping liquid...
The thick needle works really well with warm undiluted VG. And it was even almost easy to rinse it off too!

So thanks for the advice, AzPlumber!

I am currently using carto tanks with the DC smoktech, also have 2.0 LR Boge. I think for my tank next time I going to try the ressurector (the new ones) or maybe even figure out how to cut my 3.5 tank down to fit the Boge. So mybe I should try a PG 30 VG70 mix. Guess I will just have to play with it. I was going to try to go as close to 100% VG as possible, I know the flavorings are in PG.

I don't use PG at all (except what's in flavorings) and use resurrectors in tanks. The VG nic I get is already thinned and I find I don't have to thin my juices further, but I use 36mg nic base. If you were using 60 or 100mg base you probably would have to thin the 0mg VG a bit.

I don't wanna bash Crystal Clear Vaping too much as their prices are good and shipping is free, but I've ordered resurrectors from them twice and had to open a ticket both times to ask where my order was. The first time they threw in a free box of cartos for my trouble, which was nice. The free drip tip (you can pick the color) and 5ml syringe and needle they give you with a 15-carto pack is nice as well.

But if you've got another favorite vendor, resurrectors are just 1.7 ohm single-coil Smoktechs and are fairly easy to find.

OK, now that I have the practical matter of working with undiluted VG sorted when mixing, I want to ask a related question:

The vendor that sold me my first kit recommends having a small bottle of VG handy, because "a moist atomizer is a happy atomizer" - can't argue with that, lol.

So the first thing I did when I got my liquids was putting a few mls of VG in a small dropper bottle. But for this application, basically a wetting/cleaning-between-flavours drip liquid, it is clear that undiluted VG is just not practical. It is just too stiff and hard to apply, even from the soft(ish) plastic bottles that I use. It just gets messy since I can't find the technique to drip *one* nice small drop of VG.

So for this application it really needs to be thinned. Which brings us back to the question: by how much?

I've seen that aqueous glycerine usually seems to be 10% water. Is this enough? Can I go higher?

And how about the question of distilled water or PGA?
Or vodka (38-60% vol)?
What are the pros and cons when it comes to water/ethanol?

(I am not the least worried about any effects of inhaling minuscule amounts of ethanol - the amounts we are dealing with here are probably far less than what you inhale if you drink a warm alcoholic drink or breathe in while reducing a sauce with wine or brandy. I'm thinking more about how the liquid behaves in the atomizer.)
