Distinguishing resistance on eGo visions

Greetings, everyone.
I recently purchased a couple of the eGo vision/Stardusts that everyone seems so enamored of and am not terribly impressed with there performance. They're not bad, but I ordered the low resistance ones and they don't seem to produce any more or warmer vapor than the regular resistance attys that came with my eGo-C tank system, but instead they do have a more muted flavor.

It's not a huge issue to me and I don't mind deciding that they're just not for me, but I do have one question. I ordered them from a vendor which I fully believe is trustworthy, but they came in a plastic wrapper with no markings of any kind to designate their resistance, so I can't help but wonder if maybe they are not low resistance. Again I trust the vendor to not do such a thing deliberately, but of course mistakes happen. Is there any way to distinguish between the two? Or some relatively easy way to check the resistance before I entirely write them off?

The easy way is to get your hands on a multimeter. If you're going to be vaping, you really should have one anyway. You can get an adequate one for $10-20 at radioshack or ebay. AFAIK, there is no other way to check resistance for sure. A meter will also help you figure out whether you have a bad switch or a connection problem on your eGo if it quits working and if your charger is working properly. It's a good investment and easy to use for what you would be doing with it.

BTW, you should notice a definite difference between a standard and low resistance stardust. The low resistance isn't low enough, and your battery voltage isn't high enough to wash out the flavor. It's possible you got the high end of the low range, and the low end of the standard resistance range, but without a meter you can never know for sure.

The difference between "standard" resistance ego-c atty, and "low" resistance "stardust" is very, VERY noticeable. Especially in flavor. Had them, and tried them both.
However, sadly, seems to me that QC on Stardusts is not that good... I had some that had air channel (bellow the wick) filled with disintegrated wick parts, or ones with twisted coils etc etc. Maybe, just maybe, you got some funky piece or two.

Yeah, i guess I should invest in a multimeter. I've never had one and never thought I would, it's interesting the way vaping makes one fell like an electrical engineer.

@Malduk
Actually from what I've read the regular resistance eGo is 2.2 ohms and the low resistance stardust is 2.1~2.4, so there seems to be no real difference, and I've a lot of people say that the flavor is not very good in a stardust.

@JZXJ
It's the short wick, but it's a pretty thin juice. I think it's 70/30 PG/VG.
