Hi guys,

Kind of a "re-newbie" here. Tried an ecig back in '09 but it didn't stick (I had an old 510 with polyfill carts that leaked, wouldn't feed right, and eventually tasted terrible). I'm back now to give them another shot. It appears that things have improved quite a bit.

I did a bunch of research and decided on an Ego C type B with the 650mah "twist" battery.

I also ordered a Kanger EVOD clearomizer to try on it as well since the stock atomizer/tank setup seems to be the first thing people replace.

When I ordered I chose the low resistance atomizer's (1.7ohm I believe), and I believe my EVOD is going to come with a 1.8ohm head.

I chose the low resistance atomizer's because I was under the impression that they would increase vapor production.

Now today I read a few posts saying that low resistance atomizer's aren't the best choice to use with the twist battery's, is that true? Will it hurt anything? Should I keep the voltage lower for now and order some standard resistance heads?

Thanks for any help!

Best way to explain ohms/voltage/wattage I feel is to read this article written by the guy who created the safe vaping power chart.

Guide to Safe Vaping - E-Cigarette Safety | Ecig Advanced Community Blog

Are you looking for a warmer vapor (low resistance) or for flavor (standard resistance)?

The low resistance delivery devices that you chose might give you more vapor and a warmer vapor, but might also seem harsh or burn some flavors.

A standard resistance delivery device will provide a more cooler vape, and allow better production of flavors and no burning of flavors. I'd recommend trying a 3.0 ohm delivery device for the widest range of voltages available on a Twist battery. I'd also stick with a single coil device if given the choice, dual coils use up an eGo battery faster.

Hope this helps! - Baditude :vapor:

Here's a handy reference. Everyone suggests about 8W (inside the boxes) but it depends on your preferences.. (Oh, and I go 2.8ohm and high voltage. It takes all kinds..)

I use 2.5 ohm cartomizers in my pyrex cartotanks on three variable voltage mods. I'm all over the voltage range depending upon the flavor I'm using at the moment.

For juice flavors, I'm in the 3.4v - 3.7v range, or the juice will taste burnt.

For coffee flavors, I'm in the 4.2v - 4.6v range.

For a red hot cinnamon candy flavor, I'm at 5.7v.

Start low voltage with a new flavor, and increase in increments until the flavor seems to be tasting a little burnt, then step down the voltage a pinch or more.

I smoked sorta-menthols (camel crush, sometimes crushed into menthol, sometimes left as a light) but disliked camel menthol and REALLY disliked them when they were (accidentally) crushed for added super-menthol. Now I periodically crank up my menthol tank till it tastes just like a super camel menthol.

I love the cinnamon flavors but (leaving aside the morning where I had it waaay too high and burned my mouth) it makes my mouth sore. :( Might have to gift it to a friend.

ETA: 2.4ohm with cinn redhot at 5.7 is what burned me. Turned bright red, coughed like I was gonna die, had to swish saltwater a few times the rest of the day to get the "just ate lava pizza" pain to settle. Its funny that you do that on purpose (and presumably with a lot less ouch factor)
