Thought I would show the copper lovers out there. This is a 14500 copper mod firing a 306LR atty with a top fed pump top juicer (basically a Notcigs Dripper) permanently backpacked (soldered them together...I know the joint looks a bit rough as I have not sanded and buffed it out yet) with an eGo cone to fit my personal prefernces (I love the cone...just makes a better vape for me...). Made from 1/2" copper tube and sleeves with an eGo atty connector. Just so happens that the Dripper bottle that Notcigs sell fits perfectly inside of 1/2" copper tubing so this little design became a no brainer for me.

For Breaktru...I'll soon make one of these in a VV:oops:

Hey, I don't want to derail the thread (further lol), but where can I find more info about making a top feeder? I'm pretty familiar with bottom feeders, but haven't really seen how a top feeder is assembled. Any threads you can direct me to?

Straying back to the topic at hand, that mod looks pretty impressive. Is it waterproof? Does it float? I mean, what with fishing season fast approaching...

Boris,

Floats like a 6oz. lead sinker...about as waterproof as the old analogs:blush:

I can't point you to any specific threads for top feeders. It seems the ones I have seen are all designed around the builders prefernces. Keep in mind that top feeders use either a standard squeeze bottle or pump top (like the one I used) to inject the juice through the tube and onto the atty via a hole drilled in the drip tip. The easiest thing I would recomend is get yoursel "The Dripper" from Notcigs. Once you have this in hand, you will know all there is to know about the mechanics of the system. It's up to you then what kind of mod you want to build around this feed system.

Hey, it's probably been brought up before now, but I had a thought regarding a feeder system. Should work for top or bottom feeding, just decide how you want to run the plumbing, so to speak. Just thought I'd run it past you here in lieu of starting up a new thread for something that may have been discussed before - or otherwise isn't worth discussing now.

How about a syringe with the plumbing coming off the needle end? Instead of pushing on the syringe, you could have it attached to a thumbscrew which pushes the plunger at a much slower, steadier rate (like a tube of chap stick). It would be incredibly easy to control exactly how much juice you get by how far you turn. May take a little more effort to make, but it would be more airtight because a syringe doesn't need to breathe like a pump or squeeze bottle does - you're pushing the juice out and not replacing it with air.

It was just a quick thought. I may try to run with it. Any input?

Sounds like a valid idea Boris. Only problem I see is how many ML's you want to pack and where does that screw go when your syringe is full (i.e. extends out beyond the body of the mod...) I really like the pump top style. No guesswork, no learning curve, really no leaks. One push on the top equals 2 drops to the atty...everytime, all the time, all PG, all VG, combo.

Good point. That sucker would just hang out there. Seems like it would be wiser to have a something with a much larger diameter than a syringe so it could have a shorter throw. Of course, then it would have to be a pretty tight threading so you can do tiny amounts. Unless there may be a way to do something like that with a spring or somesuch? Seems like I remember seeing somewhere, something that can use a finite space to create a longer push but I cannot think of it now.

How about this...well, it's making it complex but I think it's a fun, interesting idea...but how about a fairly large syringe - I have a 6ml, but I'd reckon there's one close to twice that diameter. Put the entire assembly inside of a copper or brass tube and put the dial at just about the middle of that tube. One end will be all syringe, and the other end will take the back end of the screw when the syringe is fully-loaded. Basically, it would just conceal it a bit. Doesn't even have to be a syringe, just some container with a plunger assembly.

Ah well, just another thought for future mods. Thanks again for the input.

Ah, yes. That is exactly what I'm thinking - at least functionally. It sounds like a great idea, and it could look really slick inside a brass or bronze mod. I'm thinking there must be a lever of some kind, or gearing situation that would allow a longer push with a shorter screw. That, or some assembly inside that makes the syringe donut-shaped, like chapstick instead of a normal syringe.

Wonder if someone manufactures a watertight assembly like that. Gonna look into it.

Boris, it's real light on details, but something like this: http://www.............com/showthread.php?t=22023. I'm pretty sure something about worm drive is the way to go. The threads stay inside and a nut in the plunger is what moves, much like the chapstick. Hope this helps.

edit: can't link to this site, so your first google of "Fistpack Screw Syringe" is golden.

Wow I've never seen that. Next project: FistpackGenisis ! Ole!!!
