Diy EM, sour

Hey guys just wondering if any of you use EM in your diy. Is it the best sweetener? I know the response im going to get(every one taste bud is different, try one drop at a time) but Im just curious what percent you guys usually like it at? Do you guys use it in tobacco flavors? Also how do you guys feel about tfa sour? thanks guys

Do you guys use it in tobacco flavors? if you want your tobacco flavor to be sweet or sweeter, then yes.

Also how do you guys feel about tfa sour? im not into sour vapes... butit does work.. its makes it sour... strawberry + TFA sour = sour strawberry. im not sure what percentage to use .

I am going to use a tiny bit of sour in my cool lemonaide recipe. Just to get the right "sweet and sour" you get in fresh lemonaide. but I don't have it yet.

From Hoosier's DIY blog(really informative):

EM = Ethyl Maltol. You may as well tie one hand behind your back if you do not have some of this in your stash of stuff. (Two flavoring companies that I know of also sell this in a 10% solution as Cotton Candy Flavoring.) I use EM in a 10% solution and here is what it does:

1. Tiny Bit (A fraction of 1% in your mix) - Gives a "body" to the vapor and may slightly reduce sharp notes.
2. A Bit (Close to 1% +/- in your mix) - As above but will take the edge off sharp notes and may very slightly sweeten.
3. A Bunch (1%-5% of your total mix) - As above plus sweeten
4. A Load (10%+ of your total mix) - Cotton Candy flavor

I typically use EM at 2-5% if the mix for sweetening. It has a caramelized sugar taste, and I like that.

Is it the best? Yes, IMO. I started with TPA's sucralose sweetener, and that is more sweet, but with no additional flavor beyond that. Add that to a bitter flavor, like coffee, and it doesn't seem to meld as well as EM does, for me.

I don't like sour e-liquids, so no comment on that.
