Is there a way to make your own flavorings from scratch instead of buying them from a flavor store in pg/vg solution? What are the components in flavoring mixtures? Is it just concentrated flavor with a pg/vg base?
You can extract tobaccos, teas, vanilla beans some vegtables and coffee. You need to be careful with natural fruits and you should stay away from most supermarket bought flavorings or extracts or read the bottle. If they contain oils or additives then stay away. Pure vanilla, orange and a few other extracts that are natural and suspended in alcohol are OK. You can boil out 80% of the alcohol in those by heating them to no more then 140F to concentrate these extracts for use.
You can read about extracting your own flavorings here.
It's based on tobaccos but you can apply it to anything you want to extract.
Agreed it is extreme and costly as well as dangerous if you don't know what your doing. If it's health concerns that point an individual in this direction then for a new mixer it's not the way to go. It's better to do research and identify harmful flavorings and buy from reputable vaping supply vendors.
But on the other hand if you know what your doing and know what you want to accomplish then the results can be far better then vendor supplied flavorings. I know this from first hand experience extracting tobacco which has resulted in some of the best top notch NETS I've ever tasted.
I've been mixing juice for a year or so now. it has been tough at times but now i like the juices i make. i'm also ready for the next step of distilling my own flavors. i'll research it, but i think i will start with fresh orange peels and perhaps mango. does anyone have any pointers before i start? thanks, and i'll let you'll know how it goes.
