I'm wanting to do a pina colada flavor, and would like it to have the rum flavor. My question is can I boil some bacardi 151 (removing the alcohol), and then use that in my mix, and if so at what percentage.
I've read several posts where people use Rum, particularly spiced rum in their juices. No need to boil it, just use as is until you get the right zing you're looking for. Some people use it in their commercial juices to help with TH and trying to salvage a bad tasting juice. HTH
I was told by a DIY vet to use only CLEAR alcohol, as the coloring and sugar from the spiced rum and JD that I had picked up to try out would be a bad thing, either in throwing off the flavor or gunking up the atty...can't really remember.
