Sorry this is my first post so if it is in the wrong place please move it.

After many years of buying juice I decided to start making my own. I made a small batch using the e-liquid calculator app. Problem is that it tastes burnt. I don't use any fancy mods just a sigelei 150w with a Atlantis tank with 0.5 ohm coils. Store bought juice 50/50 mix is fine using 4.0v but with the homemade anything over 2.5v I get a burnt taste. At first I thought it was too thick so I tried to dilute it with distilled water and that made it worse. Is there anything I can do to make it to where I can turn it up to my normal wattage without the burning? Coils are new

What you posted doesn't have any pertinent information about what you mixed up to even posture a guess as to why you are having a problem. PG/VG ratio? nic level? flavor and percentage of it? flavor manufacturer? sources of ingredients? Any and all ingredients used might help someone identify why you are experiencing this problem.

Maybe try mixing a small batch without flavor and see how that goes. Prime the coil and make sure that the wicking material is fully saturated. Do you have a dripping atomizer? Maybe try a taste of the PG and the VG on their own to try and eliminate any possible ingredient problems. Maybe you just had a bad coil? If it were me I would go through the process of elimination to try and find what ingredient was the culprit. That and double checking my math on the measurements of all ingredients. Good luck.

Nothing else was added as far as sweeteners. Flavor wise it is just a sweet tart concentrate. No other sweeteners used. Thanks everyone for the advice. I'm going to try a small batch without flavoring and if that is the problem is will do a smaller percentage of flavoring abs see if that helps. If not is there any specific place you recommend to order supplies for DIY juice?

You using a fresh coil? Burnt taste could be leftover from previous tests where you detected burning. Did you try adjusting to a lower wattage or higher ohm coil? Is your hardware wicking properly? To thick a mixture leads to dry hits and wick burning.

Did you vape the VG and PG separately to determine which one is giving you this taste (Likely the VG)?
