I have found several of the ultra gooey flavors like creams and caramels are very tricky and using a bit too much will kill it.
the one caramel cream i make is 2% or less on the extract and dont really become apparent until at least 2-3 weeks later after being aired out for a day or so then left to steep. and the person at work tells me it doesnt really taste best until almost a month has gone by and it starts to turn a reddish brown.
many flavors are very strong and need so little it is ridiculous. i have a tobacco flavoring that needs about 1% or even less and still tastes strong, as soon as you try to step it up it taste like something totally different same with the fruit flavors i am using.
in the beginning when I was starting out and looking for supplies i would vape the pg or vg plain and by itself just to get a sense of the underlying flavor (if any) they may add to the mix. once i got vg that was not bad but def added something i thought was in the flavoring
