DIY Liquid fails

Hello Svapers, i'm new one. I'm trying in DIY activity using Inawera smells and VGP Power at 9 mg/ml. I'm using Ultrasonic cleaner to make faster the steeping process. I put my glass bottle in the cleaner pool, with cap on, and i do 5 cycles each of 8 minutes; i use warm water, never hot, and i'm careful don't make the water in the cleaner pool to turn too hot because i risk to destroy flavours and nicotine. After i take up the bottle out of cleaner and put, always keeping cap on, in a dark and cool place to steeping. The day after i try to taste the mix and i feel it too light and with a poor flavour with a weak "HIT". If i don't use ultrasonic cleaner neither warm water, leaving the identical mix to steep to itself the result is good, HIT and flavours are there. I think there's something in this process destroy nicotine and flavours...but i don't know what....could you give me any suggests ? Thank you

Welcome , but I would not use the cleaner , to try to speed up the steeping process . Simply uncap for a day in a dark closet , Then put the cap back on , and leave in for at least another week . Occasionally shaking up the bottles , several times a day . ( to mix the ingredients ) then try vaping . If still bad , probably not going to get better .

Look into seed steeping if you make the same batch over and over.

It will. But ventilation, the liquid being able to breath, is *essential* in any form of steeping. No matter how you do it you must have all the caps off the bottles.

Steeping is a hot topic on the dyi section of the forum. Which I will suggest you visit. Many people use heat, stiring, shaking and ultra sonic cleaners to aid in the steeping process. As well as time of course. Th is generally, Nic value and pg content. However some flavors increase TH like menthol and koolda.

I use heat,shaking and time to aid in steeping my mixes.

Some guru tell:

NEVER let your e-liquids steap with the cap off. Cap always on in a dark, room temperature place.
If you let your e-liquids with the cap off, the oxygen will react with all your flavorings and nicotine, resulting in a half-nikotined eliquid and bad taste.

So the "cap off" stuff i don't know if it would work.....it would be good if a chemical one tell its opinion it about....no personal hypothesis..

I think it depends on the flavoring. Some remove cap to allow alcohol to evap. I have noticed a diminished taste with heat, time brings the best results. Be patient.

Yes, for alcoholic smells is good to keep cap off but not for all time...because you can destroy everything, not just alcohol stuff.

Keep an inch of eliquid in the bottom of your bottle, don't use it all.

Use this to mix the same flavored ejuice into and on top of. Stir it for 5 minutes....shake it a few times. In 48 hours it will darken + be mature.

Heating and ultra sonic cleaners can't beat Mother Nature.

No need to keep the cap off. Unless you like additional bacteria and dust in your vape.

It'll fangle up flavor, yes.

If you follow my methods you will have great eliquid, follow other methods? Maybe not.

NO Many people use ultra sonic cleaning. To shake and mix thier juices to aid in the steeping process

I think this is the most right compromise. I will try even this one.

@Red_Bird: time solution is always foolproof. The problem is to bring to "ultrasonic cleaner" reliability and effectiveness.

You know the little pond foggers, the sort that people use in vivariums and the like to mist the enviroment, well they create the mist by ultrasonic vibration.
I bought one ages back to create a humidifier for my acoustic guitars and was sitting here a few days ago looking at it and my fresh mixed experiments
So i got a small bowl of warm water and suspended a 10ml bottle of fresh mixed juice in it and switched the fogger on.

A nice glowing fog (the lil fogger contraption has LEDs that change colour and make it look pretty!) with my bottle of juice suspended in it with a welding rod.

I let this fog away in the warm bath, bathed in ever changing glowing lights, mesmerised for a half hour, before I took it out and vaped it.

............... tasted the same as the crap i had mixed before ......

So no substitute for just letting it rest and mature heck it`s good enough for wine and cheese!

Re check my post I edited it, I meant to say, NO, many people use them so I do not believe the are worthless.

Red is right- try it for yourself and see what you think. I use heat and hand shaking
