Actually, no. I saw you recommend a "ladder" recipe on another thread and have been searching ECF to find out what you meant. I guess you mean measuring by adding each component to the same cylinder and adding up the volumes ("5 ml of this is 5, plus 3 ml of that is 8, plus 2 ml of the other thing makes 10..."), but I'm only guessing based on how I will measure multiple liquids when I bake. If that's not it, then I have no idea what you meant.
You are correct.
The concept of a Graduated Cylinder is foreign to many people. Hence many people don’t use it to its fullest potential.
When mixing using a “Ladder Recipe”, the Entire Mixture is in the Graduated Cylinder when the mixing is done. Here is an example of a 15ml DIY to make an 18mg e-liquid starting with 48mg Nicotine Base using a Ladder,
Fill the Graduated Cylinder to 5.7ml with 48mg Nicotine Base
Fill the Graduated Cylinder to 9.3ml with PG
Fill the Graduated Cylinder to 13.0ml with VG
Fill the Graduated Cylinder to 14.5ml with Flavoring
Fill the Graduated Cylinder to 15.0ml with Sweetener
Now you have 15.0ml of DIY e-liquid in your Graduated Cylinder ready for transfer to a Glass bottle for storage.
Not to start the entire Drops verses ml debate but many people find it easier to add the Flavoring and Sweetener by drops instead of a ml measurement.
