its most likely still safe to use, probably just have a tiny bit of strawberry flavoring if you could even taste that minute difference. eliquid still lasts long even after you mix it so I wouldnt see how nicotine bad could go back just by adding a tiny bit of flavoring to it. It's not that specific of a chemistry experiment.

Nothing to worry about there...Even adding a full syringe to the bottle of nic wouldn't have any real effect except for possibly adding a minute amount of flavor to it.

"Cross contamination" while mixing is really pretty much a non issue when you consider the actual amounts of liquid we're talking about here.

thank you for the reassurance. I didn't want to put more time into mixing only to realize my nicotine has been contaminated.

if it makes you feel any better. I dont even put time into my mixing. I have a jug of 6mg unflavored nicotine VG base int he fridge, When I want to make a bottle of eliquid to vape I just take that jug and put 20ml in a bottle, then add a couple drops of flavoring and shake it up. Been doing this for months now and nothing wrong with it.

haha I'm sure i'll be doing that soon once I feel confident enough. I'm still trying to find the right recipe that is vapable. A lot of trial and error

Sorry to go off topic but....This is extremely tempting. Never really even thought of doing something like this. Is it really that simple?! I guess I figured anything further added to unflavored nic would lesson the nic amount? DIY has always been a bit intimidating to me, but doing it this way, without having to work with straight nicotine, is something I'd feel more comfortable with. At least for starters.

I've recently got into DIY and I may have accidentally contaminated my nicotine base. I normally have a syringe strictly for nicotine, but without thinking, I accidentally used a syringe that was used for a strawberry flavor. Could I continue using this nicotine? Or is it best I purchase a new bottle?

it should be ok, specially if the nic base has PG and/or the flavoring is PG based :)

I'm still gathering and tweaking recipes to my liking, but have found I like 20-25% flavor (using mostly TFA flavors).

To make test batches faster, I did this : I used E Juice Me Up, entered nic and pg/vg numbers, desired amount to make, then entered 22.5% for a flavor (middle of my preferred flavor range). Mixed up the recipe leaving out the flavor (so it's just VG, PG, and NIC).

Now when I make test batches, as long as the flavor percentages total 20-25% in the recipe (I've even strayed a bit outside those numbers) I don't have to measure vg, pg, and nic separately. I just add the 3 values together and get it from my "premix". Speeds up the testing process quite a bit when I am doing several small test batches.

BTW, I did the math to make sure a 20% recipe didn't raise the nic too much - it doesn't. If you use this method, do the math at both ends of the flavor percentage spectrum to confirm, but it probably won't vary the nic enough to worry about it.

yep it really is that easy. When you buy nicotine just make sure you buy the lower concentration, 3mg-18mg, not the 24mg+.

I just bought a 16oz bottle of 50/50 18mg unflavored e-juice. I ether use it raw, add a few flavor drops or mix it with store bought flavored juice.

I keep a 30ml bottle with the 50/50 18mg in it and when I want to 'mix up a batch', I use one of my tanks. I find the pure unflavored requires a 'hint' of flavor to be more enjoyable so I may squirt 1ml of store bought flavored juice into the tank followed by 2-4ml of my unflavored stock. The overly expensive store bought flavored juice lasts longer and I don't have to stock a bunch of flavorings. Plus, I need not worry about the 'mg' content of the flavored juice as worse case (using 0mg flavored juice) I'll get at least 14mg NIC (or above) flavored juice. If I mix with 18mg flavored then I get weak flavored 18mg juice.

(personally it only has to taste like SOMETHING other than unflavored juice!)
