I was having problems trying to find a good plain ripe banana flavor, so I thought I would try to DIY my own flavor. I figured this would be a nice simple recipe to learn from.

I'm a little overwhelmed by this, with people saying you need Nic base, PG or VG, and a bunch of other stuff.

I usually vape 24mg pure PG juice. With the two bottles I bought pictured below, the nic is in a 24mg PG base, so I shouldn't need to dilute it, or mix anything else in except flavoring, right? Just 5-15 drops of flavor for every 100 drops of base, steep, and I'm good to go? Or is there something I'm not understanding? Any help would be appreciated.

If you vape 100% PG juice then that's all you need. I don't usually use drops, I use syringes because different size droppers, different viscosity fluids will produce different amounts. But since it's only PG with a PG based flavor (most are) it should be ok. The only thing to be aware of is as you add flavor, you will lower the Nic %.

EX: if you make a 10ml bottle with 15% flavor. That will be 8.5ml of your 24mg/ml Nic base with 1.5ml of your flavor resulting in 20.4mg/ml Nic.

Cheers,
Steve

Thank you. I thought I ordered the right stuff, but it seemed too simple. I just wanted to make sure.

I did download the juice me program, so I'll get it mixed correctly. I know the mg level will be less than 24, and I'm okay with that.

So theoretically, if I want to mix 50/50, I either need to find 24mg VG base and mix with the PG base, or I need 0mg VG and 48mg PG bases. I doubt I will find 48mg, but if I understand the theoretical, the practical becomes easy :)

You seem to have it. Some places will sell the Nic in a 50/50 mix also.

I buy stronger Nic concetration than I want my juice to be, then dilute it with the amount of PG and VG to get to my desired PG/VG ratio and Nic strength with the flavors also accounted for in the e juice me up calculator that I use.

Here's an example: I use 100mg/ml Nic in VG (I don't suggest that high of concentrate until you are comfortable in DIY). So for a 10ml bottle that I want to be 50/50 PG/VG, with 10mg/ml Nic strength, and with 10% PG based flavor. I would add 1ml Nic (that counts towards VG), 1ml flavor (counts towards PG) and 4ml each of plain PG and VG. Hope that makes sense.

Cheers,
Steve

It makes perfect sense, but I'm not ready to get 50+mg nic bases yet. I figured if I can also find 24mg VG base, then I just have to test each bottle once to verify they were labeled correctly as far as nic strength. This way no matter how I combine them, I'll always be at 18-24mg nic depending on flavoring, and I don't have to worry about accidentally poisoning myself...

Thank you for all your help. Now to go shopping for 24mg VG base, a test kit, mixing supplies, and more flavors :)
