DIY- Want to start, but need advise w/ Tasty Vapor

Okay. I really like the Tasty Vapor eliquids, and noticed they offered doublers. I have downloaded the Tasty Vapor calculator, but need advice. -I am hoping to save money making my own Kretek (With Tasty Vapor Doublers) at no more than a 80PG/20VG content w/ 18 mg.
1) I was going to order my nicotine from Wizard Labs, and noticed the site suggest 70% PG to 30% VG nicotine base, but have read several postings saying that 100% PG nicotine is better. Which is better ?
2) Is 48mg nicotine base better for a newbie DIY? I read that 60mg of nicotine base is what many are using ?

- Anybody ever use there doublers ? Any advice would be appreciated.

TV's doublers are 0mg juice. Called "doubler" because you can order 36mg in X and add an equal amount of X doubler to make twice the amount of 18mg juice.

I've never flavored my DIY mixes with juice, but I imagine there are some there that have.

I see no issues with 48mg base when going for 18mg target.

I like PG nicotine because I find it easy to work with and my VG comes from the mixing process. What one uses is a personal choice.
