Too many flavors I've bought lack actual flavor. Example: Peach by Flavorart. It taste slightly fruity but mostly sweet but not at all peachy. Other flavors like this are maple syrup, whipped cream, orange cream. I've had good luck w/ cherry, vanilla custard, tiramisu, tobacco flavors. Can anybody recommend potent, tasty, fruit/dessert/other flavors that stand out? I understand that less flavoring added may result in more flavor potential but some of these flavors just don't have any balls. I want a vape that taste like a dreamcicle, fruit punch, lemonade or grape soda. Vape shop juices aren't much better. Maybe my expectations are too high.

Well, these flavorings are what I'd consider potent (takes less of each) in any recipe, IMO. But I don't vape any single-flavoring eliquids. Everything is made of at least 2 single flavorings and or flavorings that are already blends from the manufacturer.

TFA
Key Lime (has ethyl alcohol in it)
Maraschino Cherry (very potent)
Lemon (Water sol. one, has ethyl alcohol in it)
Juicy Peach (has ethyl alcohol in it)
Strawberry (has ethyl alcohol in it)
Coconut Extra (stronger than reg.)
Pineapple (very potent)
Cinnamon Danish
Sweet & Tart
Kiwi Double (very potent)
Creme de Menthe (has ethyl alcohol in it)

One Stop Blends and One Stop Flavors from One Stop DIY Shop that IMO are potent, but very good:

Baked Cinnamon Roll - OS Flavor
Olde Tyme Root Beer - OS Flavor
Wild Cherrylicious - OS Flavor
Tennessee Whiskey -OS Flavor
Licorice Torpedos - OS Blend

Thanks JC. That's quite a list to keep me busy for a while!

You're welcome for the info. above, and Thank You for the CC info. response.

By the way the TFA Key Lime + OSDIY Shop's Lucky Shot (a OS Blend)...make a really good Key Lime Pie eliquid. Kimberly, the owner, uses 10% LS + 5% KL, but the KL is too strong at that for me, so I raise the LS and lower the KL.

Something you may want to check out as far as info., hints, tips, etc. about flavorings, recipes, mixing, etc. are...Bill's Magic Vapor's Blogs. He also has a bunch of recipes found throughout his blogs. His 100DTT (100 drop taste test) is also explained in them. I use it for every new recipe I make, to tweak it before making a larger amount of it. He also discusses making several types of Bases (ie. for Pies, for Danishes, for Custards, for Fruity mixes, etc.)...that remain the same and only the main/primary flavoring needs to change to make many different recipes! Those things and more can be found here:

Sounds like your expecting a ton like you said . FA flavorings are considered absolute top shelf and are considered strong by most people . I would recommend buying FA Forest Fruit or Capella's Harvest Berry as they are exceptional stand alone vapes.

Add in some VBIC or Whipped Cream and your good to go.

Ok. Thanks Herb. I just think some flavors by some companies are watered down. But i've only been mixing for 2 months. This is more complex than i thought. I do have one recipe that's pretty good though. I call it Sweetwood.
70/30 PG/VG 24mg
5% Oakwood (FA)
10% Hazelnut (FW)
5% American Tobacco (Jungle)
Substitute some of the percentages with cherry, caramel, coffee or whatever u like to shift the flavor one way or the other. One to play with if u like sweet tobacco flavors.

Personally, I really like Capella fruits. To me, all that I've tried are good stand alone, shake & vape @ about 8 - 10%. YMMV... I prefer them mixed with other things, but when I first started DIY, they were what I could rely on. Sweet Strawberry, Blueberry, Double Apple, Harvest Berry and my favorite Raspberry are worth a try. For Bakery, Capella's Cinnamon Danish Swirl, Apple Pie, Sugar Cookie and Vanilla Custard @ about the same percentages are hard to beat...

I just wanted to pop in here and thank you for posting this, Herb. :) I had gotten some Forest Fruit months ago on someone's recommendation, and absolutely hated it in the recipe I made, using only 2% flavor. It tasted like pine sap to me, and the only way I could even tolerate it was if I reduced it down to half a percent or less, and even then, I could still taste the pine sap when I first started vaping it. After a few hits, I stopped noticing it so much, but those first few were kinda nasty.

However, reading the review link you posted, one of the guys says he uses it at 7% as a standalone flavor, with a bit of sweetener added to bring out the berry flavor more, so being the adventurous sort that I am, I decided to mix up a small bottle that way, and lo and behold, it's now a WONDERFUL flavor. 7% Forest Fruit and 3% ethyl maltol turned it around 180 degrees and now I love it. I vaped my entire 15ml sample bottle yesterday afternoon! LOL! I'm mixing a big bottle of it today. It's so nice now, cool, dark fruit, with just enough sweet to perfectly bring out the flavor.

I guess it just goes to prove, sometimes more IS better. ;) Anyway, thank you! :)

I agree that Capella has some great fruit and other flavors that are shake and vape ready--- good strong flavor profiles.
